Television starlets paraded their way down the red carpet last night for the 64th Annual Emmy Awards, and among them was Nicole Kidman, who was nominated for her role in the TV Movie, Hemingway and Gellhorn. Ever the consummate regal movie star, Kidman was a standout in her hot-off-the-Spring-2013 runway Antonio Berardi blue and white gown. For forum members, she was one of the best dressed of the night.
“She may not [have won] an Emmy… but she won the title of best dressed!” lvstratus declared. “Great dress, the shoes are perfect and I love the earrings!”
For eternitygoddess, this is the best Kidman has looked in a long while. “Her fashion mojo is FINALLY back after a several-year drought. Bravo!” she posted.
“She looks incredible and it's such an interesting look,” saann commented. “I'm always happy to see Antonio Berardi on the red carpet.”
It’s always great to see a dress go from the runway to the red carpet on someone who can do it justice. The dress is a bit Ice Queen-esque, but so is Nicole, so it's a dress well chosen for Mrs. Keith Urban.
If you were lucky enough to tune in to the Emmy Awards last night, you bore witness to another notable occasion: Allison Williams' "major fashion coming out party for the general public."
WWD reports that the Girls actress and her stylist, Cristina Ehrlich, have been planning this moment since forever — or at least ever since Williams hired a stylist and expressed her longstanding wish to wear an Oscar de la Renta gown:
“I told her [stylist Cristina Ehrlich] when I first met her that my dream — my dream — is to wear Oscar de la Renta. It is one of the only designers I feel like I’ve always known about, and I’ve always noticed. It is so elegant and beautiful. He has been so good for so long, he knows exactly what he is doing.”
“We’ve had a very planned out way that we wanted to see the evolution of her style come to fruition. It was always about getting to this moment where she would wear Oscar de la Renta.”

Would you love to get your hands on David Beckham in his skivvies? Fast-fashion giant H&M lets you do exactly that by showing off larger-than-life statue versions of the English soccer sta in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver.
H&M recently partnered with Becks on a bodywear line, which is a more in vogue way of describing underwear and lounge clothing. "It's important to me that Bodywear means more than just briefs and Ts. It's about all the pieces I like," Beckham told the Associated Press of his preference for warm and cozy when he's spending downtime at home, you know, being stinking rich and generally fabulous with his designer wife.
Marking the launch of the new line and drumming up excitement, H&M commissioned and erected 6.7-metre tall metal Davids across Canada, with which fans could upload Instagrammed pics of themselves for a chance to win a $1,000 H&M shopping spree and a signed pair of David Beckham for H&M underwear.
The towering Beckhams were on display at the Pacific Centre in Vancouver, the Eaton Centre in Toronto, and inside the Montreal H&M at Peel and Sainte-Catherine Streets. If you were unlucky enough to miss them, then I give you this:
You're welcome. Alongside David Beckham's famous face (and butt/legs/crotch), H&M has also recently enlisted perennial hipster favourite Lana Del Rey as the pouting face of its latest fall women's collection. Her commercials are typically old-timey and emotionless, but looking beyond Lana's blank expression, the cheap and chic clothing is pretty enchanting. Just check out some of the better buys as modelled by Lana:

It’s hard to believe that it’s already been a whole nine years since Fashion Fringe was initially founded by Colin McDowell in hand with IMG Fashion to support emerging fashion designers. For those not familiar with the initiative, each year three finalists are chosen, with an overall winner then selected at the end of London Fashion Week. Similarly to recipients of the NEWGEN scheme, the winner not only receives sponsorship but also personalised mentoring which helps them to efficiently run their own label and transform it into a profitable and successful business venture.
Colin McDowell, Vita Gottlieb, Haizhen Wang, Teija Eilola and Christopher Bailey
This year, it was Christopher Bailey who was the nominated chair person for Fashion Fringe, with fashion designers Haizhen Wang, Teija Eilola, and Vita Gottlieb making it into the final three nominees. As LFW drew to an end, Bailey picked Haizhen Wang as the overall winner, who he labeled as an exceptional and original creative. Wang, a Central Saint Martins graduate, produced a winning collection which was influenced by Japanese armour and historical costumes, as well as by the Spanish architect, Santiago Calatrava. He also innovatively chose to use a 3-D digital printer to create the shoes and masks in his collection.
Corrie Nielsen and Erdem are former Fashion Fringe winners (to name a few) and are currently very successful as a result, with Nielsen even showing on LFW’s main catwalk at the heart of Somerset House. Like those before him, Wang will also receive 100,000 pounds in sponsorship, as well as the privilege of having a studio space at Somerset House for the next four seasons.
Schemes such as these are priceless opportunities for emerging fashion designers and always attract massive audiences, with special guests at this year's Fringe including the fashionable reality television star Lydia Bright (above left) and singer V V Brown (above right). One thing is for sure, it can’t help but be noticed that the majority of the winners seem to originate from prestigious design schools such as Central Saint Martins. Surely, it’s time to unearth some fashion designers from less well-known schools, who just couldn’t afford the tuition fees of a London based university course?

IMG Models has long been one of the most recognizable and highly reputable modeling agencies, and now, for the first time in five years, the agency will once again be adding male models to its roster of talent. IMG currently represents high profile women like Gisele Bundchen, Karlie Kloss, and Joan Smalls, and they’ll surely be looking to represent men of equally high caliber. Senior vice president Ivan Bart has brought on industry veterans Kevin Apana and Greg Chan to build up the new male model division. Bart said:“As a leader in the modeling industry, we felt the time was right to relaunch our men’s division.”
Forum members are excited about the change over at IMG. “That is great news! I'm wondering what models will jump ship to IMG, definitely some of the bigger names to match the caliber of their women's board,” heelscatchfire predicted. “IMG has done great things for their ladies so it’s good to know the men will be taken care of. Of course all the new faces they will scout will be amazing, and faces to watch.”
“It's going to be interesting to see who they are going to snag to put on the board,” Flashbang agreed. “VNY, DNA & Willy should watch out.”
Things have already gotten exponentially more handsome over at IMG. Mathias Lauridsen, Patrick Petitjean, R.J. Rogenski, and Tyson Ballou are all signed up and on the boards of the new male model division. This stage of the IMG quest for modeling world dominance has officially commenced.
