Negative space and shattered glass manis are so last week. The new nail pics winning #ManiMonday explode into fireworks or sparkles in a one-of-a-kind GIF. Yep, every manicure you’ve scrolled past on Instagram has now been rendered subpar thanks to Metaverse Makeovers’ MM Nails app.

The program transforms your manicures into live 3-D videos that are shareable on every social media platform. Using the hologram feature, you can digitally animate your nails with everything from butterflies to dancing animals. Thea Baumann, CEO of Metaverse Makeovers, gushed about the innovative nails to Mashable: “Virtual GIFs pop from the surface of our fashion nails. 3D emoji fly out of your fingers.” Consider our minds blown.  (more…)

Karlie Kloss Scores UK Vogue’s ‘Cheap and Tacky’ December Cover (Forum Buzz)

For us, Christmas comes early with the release of the December issues and U.K. Vogue‘s cover is one of the latest to drop in our forums. The title gives American model Karlie Kloss her second cover, appearing as though she was captured mid-festivities wearing Elie Saab for photographer Patrick Demarchelier.

Our forums didn’t hold back the criticism, however. “Love the colors and her pose but what is up with the fake lens flare? Photoshop 101?” asked a dismayed WilliamsLe010919.

“The pose is very awkward. The lens flare effect is shameful,” agreed arlekindearabal.

“I was so happy when I saw the title, but the outcome is disappointing. I hate both the styling and the pose. The colour scheme is new for U.K. Vogue, but it’s so kitschy. Maybe I’ll like the tactile version…” said Srdjan.

Certainly not feeling the cover was jeffandtheworld: “Ugly color scheme. This looks like a free magazine. Unbelievably cheap.”

Forum member dodencebt wrote, “They’ve managed to turn Karlie into a less-than-ordinary girl you’d get for an amateur shoot. Congratulations.”

MyNameIs wasn’t exactly jumping for joy, either, declaring, “Cheap and tacky is right. That shade of green in the background is the worst. You can do festive without it being so over the top and amateur.”

“So 70s style and bland. What a boring cover for closing the year,” exclaimed burbuja8910.

Do you agree that the cover could have been a whole lot better? They did have Karlie, after all. Share your opinion with us here.

Michael Lo Sordo’s fluid shapes and silhouettes have made him a favourite in the Australian fashion industry, but not everyone is fond of the designer, with contractors accusing the designer of not paying his bills.

From sample cutters to photographers and models, Michael Lo Sordo has had plenty of contractors claim that he hasn’t paid them for their work over the past two years, with some even suggesting that the Australian Fashion Chamber cut ties with him.

Photographer Steven Popovich is the latest to feel ripped off, saying he never saw the money for photographs he took for the label’s Resort 2015 collection earlier this year. “I gave Michael low-res images and very clearly stipulated, you cannot use any of these images until you have paid the bill. After not being paid, I ran into him before he went to Paris and he said, ‘I’ll pay it tonight.’ A week later he is in Paris and I have never seen the money,” he explained to The Sunday Telegraph.
