Watch Jourdan Dunn Cook (and Eat) Thai Food in Thailand

If we know anything about Jourdan Dunn, it’s that she looks great in just about anything and also – she loves food. The model’s YouTube cooking show Well Dunn with Jay Z’s Life + Times website gave us a peek into one of Dunn’s biggest passions and now i-D‘s Amuse digital magazine and video channel is taking things a step further with How It’s Dunn, bringing the model closer to one of her favorite types of cuisine: Thai food.

The two-part episode follows Dunn on a trip to Thailand. The model visits the food market, browsing through vendors peddling spices and tubs of wriggling fish, before trying her hand at cooking authentic Thai dishes herself and, of course, stuffing her face with all the spicy deliciousness Thailand has to offer. Of course, no model can go through the day shoveling food down her throat without getting a little exercise in, so we also get to see Dunn kick ass at a Muay Thai session. Let’s just say, we wouldn’t want to be on the other end when the model is throwing bows.

Naomi Watts Stuns on the Cover of Vogue Australia (Forum Buzz)

We continue to be huge admirers of Vogue Australia and the magazine persists on supporting local talent with the unveiling of each issue. Nicole Kidman looked fantastic in the Australian outback for September and now her friend Noami Watts appears on the October cover. Shot wearing an eye-catching creation from Burberry Prorsum, the About Ray actress looks terrific, oozing a natural and effortless elegance, enhanced by the achievable styling of the shoot.

We couldn’t wait to see what Australia Vogue had in store for us this month. “While I had hoped it would be a model gracing the October issue, I can’t deny that this is an extremely well-executed cover. Naomi looks beautiful, and as always the art direction is incredibly strong,” AL92 raved right away, getting us off to a positive start.

“Wow, striking shot and wonderful colors. I love how neat it looks, the cover lines don’t obstruct the image. I’m not a Naomi Watts fan at the best of times, but she looks stunning here with some of her age still visible. Come to think of it, her last Vogue Australia cover looked splendid as well,” remembered Benn98.

MON was full of admiration too. “I like it! Compare this with her former cover, under the same team, you can see a lot of growth (considering the former cover was beautiful!). They seriously belong amongst the top Vogues out there. Keep turning it out VA! Bravo!” he applauded.

Also feeling it was narcyza: “It’s a cool cover. She is amazing!”

“It’s an amazing image. They managed to capture something very special in her face. She looks beautiful so nothing else really matters,” credited a satisfied gazebo.

Await the full cover and in the meantime, drop us a comment here.

Ellen DeGeneres Adds Footwear to Her ED Lifestyle Brand

Ellen DeGeneres’ lifestyle brand is rapidly growing, this time adding a footwear option to its selection of wares. Degeneres’ ED has inked a deal with the Camuto Group, which will have the brand selling shoes and sneakers come springtime.

DeGeneres’ line already comes with easy wardrobe staples – T-shirts, button downs, jackets and the like, all very classically American with an ED twist. DeGeneres recently launched a pop-up home shop in Bergdorf Goodman, which will run until September 22. But if you can’t wait to get your hands (or feet) on ED’s footwear, a capsule collection is available on the Bergdorf Goodman website until September 30. Take your pick of a few shoe styles, including sneakers, Chelsea boots, oxfords and pumps, which aren’t what you would call cheap. Sneakers and oxfords boast the lowest price point at $200 a pop, while the boots go for $250 and pumps for $230.

“I am so excited for my brand to partner with the Camuto Group. They say you have to walk a mile in someone else’s shoes to really know how they feel. Well, now you can literally walk a mile in my shoes, or even further if you choose,” DeGeneres told WWD

As a fast fashion retailer, H&M has shown time again its commitment to promoting sustainability and corporate responsibility when it comes to how it produces clothes. The retailer recently announced a competition calling for innovators to invent better, more environmentally friendly ways of recycling clothes and now, H&M is focusing on how fast fashion affects the other living creatures on this planet.

H&M is launching an animal welfare initiative in collaboration with the Humane Society in an effort to help end cosmetics testing on animals and generally improve their lives. H&M outlines its plans to help promote the well-being of animals through its corporate actions, listing responsible standards in wool, down, leather and animal hair. Policies include avoiding down that has been plucked from live or force-fed birds, not using animal fur, refraining from selling exotic animal skins or the skins of endangered creatures, and only accepting leather products from animals that have been bred for meat production.

“It is always exciting to partner with a company that shares our passion for animal protection. Working with H&M to end cosmetics animal testing, and improve the lives of animals on farms, will set a high standard for others to follow,” Humane Society International CEO Andrew Rowan said. “It will show that it not only makes good ethical sense to treat animals with kindness and compassion, but it makes good business sense too.”

Oscar Wylee celebrated its third birthday at its Sydney showroom over the weekend, proving how the brand became optical mavens to be reckoned with in only a few short years.

High-profile faces like Nicole Millar and Caroline Høgh Groth filled the room, able to chow down on boutique popcorn and G&Ts as they so please while also checking out the label’s latest wares.

The party possessed a much more relaxed and friendly vibe to other fashion events, and, yes, was fittingly hipster, but in the best kind of way.  (more…)
