Kanye West Says the Best Is Yet to Come for His Design Efforts

We already know Kanye West has a lot of thoughts about Kanye West, but to help make sense of them all, the rapper explains himself in a piece for Paper magazine so the world may know what he stands for, what he plans to bring to the world of fashion and why he is so much more than just a music artist. “I am not what I would consider truly a musician. I am an inventor. I am an innovator.”

At the top of his list of innovation opportunities is the fashion world, in which Kanye says he is busy breaking down barriers. He discusses the concept of a “fashion insider,” and why such a title should be done away with, considering that fashion is something we all participate in. “I believe that everyone is a fashion insider because it’s illegal to be naked,” he said. “But in all seriousness, the fashion world can say, ‘Yo, you know what I mean: the inside insiders.’ I saw this article that asked, ‘Should Kanye leave fashion to the professionals?’ That question is really ignorant, in a way, because the second I sell my first T-shirt or my first shoe, doesn’t that make me a professional? And when you sit down with Riccardo Tisci at the Louvre and he pitches the idea of you wearing a leather kilt, which could be considered by all of your gangbanging friends as some sort of a dress or skirt, at that point you are now a part of the fashion world. You have paid your dues to be an insider. I paid my dues when I had to wear a kilt in Chicago, and friends would say, ‘What’s your boy got on?'”

Kanye assures us that the collections we’ve seen from him are nothing compared to the collections he plans on blessing us with in the future. “I haven’t even given my College Dropout of clothing yet. We’re still on mixtapes. “

But mostly, Kanye is thankful that he is finally being given the acknowledgement and praise from the fashion world he craved for so long. It seems the rapper is at a turning point in his career in fashion, and he is more hopeful about what he can accomplish now that critics aren’t skewering his work anymore. “I feel very positive about the future. People are starting to recognize and just give me a chance to be looked at, respected and a part of the conversation. I really appreciate that my collection at New York Fashion Week was accepted positively.”

That’s all he ever wanted, y’all.

Kendall Jenner and Miley Cyrus Cause a Weekend Fuss on Instagram

Disrobing for the public is a favorite pastime for a few members of the Kardashian-Jenner clan. And for the media exposure-driven family, one good naked or partially nude snap is another opportunity to make waves in the news cycle. Kim Kardashian has pretty much established herself as the queen of the ass shot, having shown us her goods from several different angles over the past few years. But now, Kendall Jenner is looking to swipe her older sister’s crown. The young reality TV star-cum-model posted a shot to Instagram of what seems to be her own bare ass with a toy car perched on top.

The image is thought to be inspired by Robin Thicke’s NSFW “Blurred Lines” music video, in which Emily Ratajkowski has a toy car pushed along her back. While Kendall may or may not have been showing off her butt, pastie queen Miley Cyrus treated her Instagram followers to another picture of her breasts – and an update on how her armpit hair is growing in.

This weekend, the singer posted an image of her outfit for Joan Jett’s induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Of course, she wore a breast-baring cutout leathery dress, obscuring her nipples with J-emblazoned pink heart-shaped pasties. In the original snap, some fans pointed out Cyrus’ long armpit hair, which the singer acknowledged by reposting an edited image zooming in on her hairy pits. Obviously, Cyrus is not concerned if anyone is grossed out by her naturally-growing body hair, and we can get on board with that.

Last year, Madonna set Instagram ablaze with a photo of her own hairy pit, so it’s clear that the sight of a celebrity sporting fuzzy underarms still has some currency over social media. Miley’s photo has over 279,000 likes and more than 34,000 comments. Who knew folks had so much to say about body hair?

Bruce Jenner Talks Family in Latest Diane Sawyer Interview Promo

ABC has released yet another promo for the much-anticipated Bruce Jenner/Diane Sawyer sit-down. This particular spot reveals more about the interview than previous ones and is also far less shadowy and hair metal ballad-y. This time, the background music is more hopeful and we get a few more words from Jenner himself.

In this new clip, the Olympian-cum-reality TV dad talks about his large, famous family, saying, “Those are the only ones I’m concerned with. I can’t let myself hurt them.” Of course, the 30-second promo doesn’t elaborate on what is going on in Bruce’s life that could possibly hurt them, so we guess they’re still keeping what some believe is the actual meat of the interview, the details of his rumored transition, a bit of a surprise.

The interview is set to broadcast Friday, April 24 at 9 p.m. ET on ABC. We bet the world will be watching closely to find out the truth about Jenner’s changing appearance and if all the rumors that have been swirling are true or not. In four days, we’ll get our answer.

Charlize Theron Gets Overshadowed on W’s May Cover (Forum Buzz)

After featuring someone relatively unknown on the April cover, W comes back with a bang and serves up Charlize Theron as its latest subject. A select few of us sat in anticipation after a generous forum member provided info that the Mad Max: Fury Road star was set to front W‘s May 2015 cover, and we finally got it over the weekend. Photographed by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, a sultry Charlize dons a black PVC jacket layered over her bare skin as she gazes down the lens. What more could we want?

Unexpectedly, our forum members were disappointed. “Meh I think we’ve all seen Charlize with smoky eyes and tough leather many, many times,” posted t-rex the moment the cover surfaced, setting the tone of commentary to come.

“I don’t even know why I even expected much from this. It’s your typical run-of-mill M&M story. I bet this is by Mr. Enninful again. It’s boring. It’s dated. There’s nothing new about it. And I do not like the shadow covering half of her face. Nope,” added a disapproving MON.

“What’s with the shadow covering half her face?” questioned ALAUU.

Benn98 felt the same way, slamming, “My thoughts exactly, I was surprised to see people getting so excited about the news. Charlize is a really beautiful and fierce woman, but M&M is overrated. I knew it was going to be something sexy, hyper-glamorous and retouched to the max.”

Emmanuelle agreed, “I don’t really like the cover. The hairstyle is too weird and I am not a fan of this shadow, I have the feeling it could have been done better.”

“Tom Hardy isn’t accompanying her? Not interested. As others have said we have seen her in photoshoots like this a million times,” HeatherAnne echoed.

Lilly Pulitzer x Target Collection Mostly Sold Out, Everyone Freaked Out

We had a feeling Target’s collaboration with Lilly Pulitzer was going to be a hit and it turns out, after barely launching, it already is. Reports are saying that much of the collection sold out this weekend, and due to high demand, there are scores of unhappy shoppers who couldn’t get their hands on all the preppy printed wares.

Of course, people who were hoping to fill their real and digital baskets with goods from the collaboration were sorely disappointed – in fact, Mashable says that the Lilly Pulitzer collection was already sold out online Sunday morning. Customers expressed their frustration at how quickly the collection sold out.

Target has said that it is not restocking the collection, so any leftover scraps you find in stores and online is what is left of the collaboration. The hashtag #LillyforeBay has started to crop up on social media, now that eBay is pretty much the only place you can get many of the sold-out items. And they ain’t cheap. In fact, a quick search of eBay shows a beach chair and hammock set on sale for well over $1,000 (one of the higher end sales), which is a huge rip-off considering the beach chairs were priced at $60 for the collection and the hammock was just $150. Talk about a markup!

We even found a Lilly for Target  plus-size dress going for $350 – which is even more expensive than what mainline Lilly Pulitzer asks for its dresses. The most expensive Lilly Pulitzer dress currently on the website is $348. Granted, the $348 dollar dress doesn’t come in plus-sizes, but at this point, it looks like many customers will be paying almost as much if not more for the Target collaboration than they would if they just shopped directly from the Lilly Pulitzer store – and we bet the shopping would be infinitely less stressful if they did.

But for all the troubles that came along with the collection, you can go to bed tonight knowing that Target just made a whole lot of money off this collaboration. Isn’t it always nice when corporations get the money they deserve?

Giorgio Armani Has Some Opinions on How Gay Men Should Dress

Image: Imaxtree

It’s not surprising that a fashion designer would have strong opinions on how other people dress, but Giorgio Armani is really toeing the line of intolerance with some recent comments he made about how he believes men should dress, specifically homosexual men.

In an interview with The Sunday Times, the designer lent some controversial-but-vague opinions on how he thinks gay men should present themselves sartorially. “A homosexual man is a man 100 per cent. He does not need to dress homosexual,” he said. “When homosexuality is exhibited to the extreme — to say, ‘Ah, you know I’m homosexual,’ — that has nothing to do with me. A man has to be a man.”

Armani never makes it clear exactly what he means by “dressing homosexual,” but we’re going to guess his notion is steeped in stereotypes and antiquated ideas on what men should wear. Whether a man is in a sparkly suit or a tutu – as long as he considers himself a man, he is still a man. And we’re pretty sure autonomous, free-thinking gay men around the world do not need Giorgio Armani telling them how to clothe themselves. Also, we’re still not sure what “extreme” homosexuality even is? Gays doing gnarly gazelle flips?

Armani also offered some comments on the types of male bodies he prefers: “I don’t like muscle boy. Not too much gym. I like somebody healthy, somebody solid, who looks after his body but doesn’t use his muscles too much.”

In conclusion, fellas, if you’re trying to impress Mr. Armani, please don’t be too ripped and for goodness sake, dress like a real man – whatever that means.
