Even though Renee Bargh has been living it up in Los Angeles as Extra‘s co-host for quite some time now, the Queensland-born TV personality must still have a soft spot for her home country and its talented designers.

She did us proud on the Creative Arts Emmy Awards’ red carpet, stepping out in an elegant black gown by Melbourne-based designer Bariano. Renee styled the strapless piece perfectly with a gold diamond-encrusted choker fit for a Greek goddess, plus simple black heels exposed by the the front thigh split of the piece.

Perhaps the most breathtaking of the getup was the braided updo by hair stylist Erin McKay, which Renee continued to rock at the Malibu Beach House the following day. “Sunday at the Bu. Yesterday’s hair don’t care. #myhappyplace #beachbun,” Renee wrote to her Instagram, with a photo of her lounging in a bikini.

For a while there, we kind of thought Abbey Lee Kershaw had fallen off the face of the earth. We weren’t hearing about the doe-eyed model and she wasn’t gracing glossy magazine spreads. Then she popped up on our screens for the Max Max: Fury Road trailer alongside fellow models Megan Gale and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, making us think a fledged acting career could be on the cards.

Now the blond babe has been spotted at the closing night of the Melbourne International Film Festival, strutting her always-grungy look on the red carpet for the Australian premiere of Felony. The 2004 Girlfriend Model Search winner showed off her belly button ring in a high-waisted pant and crop combo teamed with a black biker jacket and shiny leather boots.

Add to the outfit a cross necklace, beaded bag, messy hair and edgy makeup, and it’s apparent our girl is back in full swing. It might be to cement her acting career, but we’re not complaining. It’s good to have you back, Abbey Lee, no matter the reason.

Liu Wen Scores Numéro China’s September Cover (Forum Buzz)

She may have been omitted from the U.S. Vogue September cover, but Liu Wen doesn’t need to be too upset about it. She landed her own September cover where the spotlight is all hers. For Numéro China, she was shot by up-and-coming photographer Txema Yeste — and she looks absolutely stunning.

Forum members were upset last week when it was revealed that Liu was not part of U.S. Vogue’s September cover with the current crop of top models. Having been the first Asian model of the new generation to achieve enormous commercial success with her Estée Lauder contract, while still being a high-fashion darling who made it into the top three of’s rankings, she would surely have deserved her spot on that cover. But while the U.S. Vogue cover is receiving mostly bad feedback, Liu’s Numéro cover is a hit.

“Awesome cover, cool to see Liu,” posted KateTheGreatest

“What a fantastic cover! Liu Wen is absolutely amazing here. Everything is perfect: simple hair, pretty interesting makeup and great styling, the pose is really cute too,” exclaimed narcyza.

“Visually striking and I love the slight creepiness of it. Great cover,” agreed annavtree.

“This cover is quite simply gorgeous. Everything about it is drawing me in. Easily my favorite September cover so far,” added Bobby153.

Between this and Vogue, this may be the less prestigious cover, but it’s definitely the better one.

Claudia Schiffer Looks Creepy on Harper’s Bazaar Spain’s September Cover (Forum Buzz)

Harper’s Bazaar Spain is always good for a surprise when it comes to covers. Very often they are unexpected, creative, artsy and different. For the September 2014 issue starring Claudia Schiffer, however, the publication produced a cover that is just flat-out frightening and not very flattering.

The image is from the editorial Carine Roitfeld styled, which was published in all international editions of Harper’s Bazaar. And maybe that’s the problem here. Quite possibly, Harper’s Bazaar Spain struggles when not using its own creative team. While Claudia’s shot (photographed by Sebastian Faena) didn’t stand out so negatively within the whole editorial, it’s arguably not a cover-worthy image.

So, what did our forum members have to say about the cover? Nothing positive.

“Terrible” (Suhzie) and “disastrous” (la veronika) were some of the adjectives being used.

“Looks like a bad Herbal Essences/Shampoo ad! Only the clothes are good…..” commented miguelalmeida.

“It scared me!” admitted GlamorousBoy.

For the 50th issue, the mag surely would have created something much more striking and pleasant to look at, had it been up to the team of Harper’s Bazaar Spain. So, who is to blame for this mess? Benn98 knows the answer: “Ugh! This is all Carine Roitfeld’s doing.” Scapegoat found.
