Watch: Vera Wang Talks Her Latest Simply Vera for Kohl’s Collection

Kohl’s is giving you a behind-the-scenes look at its Simply Vera range in a series of interviews with the designer, who has enjoyed a career in the fashion industry spanning several decades. Vera Wang’s affordable lifestyle brand brings high-end fashion sensibilities to the average American woman. 

“I really got a chance to enter fashion at I think, the highest level. And the very fact you have the power there to set trends and to make sociological statements, not just fashion statements, that’s very powerful.” In the series, we get to see Wang as she puts together her collection for the retailer, deciding on cuts, colors and patterns with her team, and also get a peek into the mind of the designer and the inspiration behind her creations.

Catherine McNeil Looks Like a Wax Figure on Vogue Mexico’s April Cover (Forum Buzz)

Aussie models are on fire this month, snagging Vogue covers left, right and center. After Abbey Lee Kershaw set our forums ablaze on Vogue Korea, now Catherine McNeil graces the cover of Vogue Mexico‘s newly-released April 2015 issue. Photographed by James Macari, the model was captured in a vibrant sports-inspired orange dress by Alexander Wang. Unfortunately, Catherine ultimately ends up looking like a wax figure. Below is the main newsstand cover, while the remaining two images with the Vogue masthead layered over are part of the cover’s fold-out.

Per usual, our feisty forum members aren’t afraid to let their opinions be known. “Wow these three are unflattering. She doesn’t look herself. The hair looks heavy. The layout is a mess. The light blue is out of place. NOPE,” slammed MON.

Kim Kardashian’s Platinum Blonde Hair Gets a Last Hurrah on Cover of ELLE France

Kim Kardashian’s platinum locks make their cover debut on this month’s edition of ELLE France. Kardashian is pictured in her signature monochrome, all-black everything ensemble, created by her friend Olivier Rousteing at Balmain for the Spring 2015 season.

Rousteing is also interviewed for the magazine, pictured cheek to cheek with his reality star BFF, for whom he has had no shortage of lofty praise. “I think Kim is one of the most impressive business women I’ve ever met,” he told Glamour UK earlier this month. “She’s got an amazing career, husband and beautiful kid. She’s so powerful, but at the same time really humble with good values.”

It looks like Kim shot the cover during her whirlwind trip to Paris Fashion Week earlier this month when she debuted her new hair color to the world. But if you’re a fan of platinum Kim, you might want to cherish this blonde moment now that she’s dyed her hair back to black.

Kate Upton Is Starring in a New Movie with Lea Michele and William H. Macy

Like many of her model sistren, Kate Upton has Hollywood dreams and they have once again become a reality. The busty model and Bobbi Brown ambassador has scored herself another acting role, in the upcoming comedy The Layover, a film about two girls who go on vacation and fall in love with the same guy. Lea Michele is also in the movie, directed by Shameless star William H. Macy. 

In 2014, the model starred in director Nick Cassavetes’ comedy The Other Woman, alongside Cameron Diaz and Leslie Mann, playing on the old “blonde bimbo” trope. Hopefully Upton will be able to demonstrate a bit more range in her new role.

Michele and Upton have been tweeting about the film, which Macy will also star in. “We’ve already started rehearsals and have been having the best time!!! This is going to be a fun one,” Michele tweeted. Upton showed her enthusiasm for the project, saying, “Never thought I’d be looking forward to a layover! I can’t wait!”

Is Amazon About to Buy Net-A-Porter?

Richemont online fashion destination Net-A-Porter may be up for sale again and word is that it has a very high-profile buyer. Amazon is reportedly in talks with the e-tailer, negotiating a deal in the ballpark of $2.19 billion. The move could be very good for Amazon, which has shown quite a keen interest in building a presence in the fashion industry and entering the luxury market. The company launched the Amazon Fashion website about three years ago and its MyHabit and East Dane brands are sponsoring this summer’s New York Fashion Week: Men’s

Net-a-Porter has been under the Richemont umbrella since 2010, and some people wonder how long the company, which owns luxury labels Cartier, Chloé, Azzedine Alaïa, Van Cleef & Arpels and more, will want to keep the Internet-based retailer in the fold. Indeed, Net-a-Porter does seem to be a little out of place when you consider the other brands on the Richemont roster.

Neither Richemont nor Amazon would confirm rumors of the negotiation.

The Kardashian-Jenner takeover of the fashion industry continues with young Kendall who is the new face of Calvin Klein. Rumors that the reality star-cum-model had signed on with the brand have been swirling and today we get confirmation that Ms. Jenner indeed has been cast in the label’s latest campaign. 

Jenner appears in ads for #mycalvins Denim Series, a sporty, limited-edition offering that combines both street and athletic wear. Kendall and Simon Nessman pose together for the Alasdair McLellan-lensed campaign, with Jenner casting sleepy glances to the camera as she feigns intensity with a head of wet hair. 

“Modeling for Calvin Klein Jeans is really a dream come true,” said Jenner in a press release. “I’ve grown up wearing the brand and seeing the iconic advertising in magazines and on billboards featuring some of the world’s top supermodels. To now be a part of that legacy is truly an honor.”

Calvin Klein’s Denim Series will be available in stores and online at Opening Ceremony starting April 15, with prices ranging from $58 to $348. Check out images from the campaign below.  (more…)
