Models Take Selfies in Dolce & Gabbana’s Crowded Fall 2015 Campaign (Forum Buzz)

One thing we’ve witnessed from campaigns this season is that brands tend to stick to their winning formula (often to our dismay). Dolce & Gabbana, for example, continuously projects the image of a true Italian lifestyle in its ads. For Fall 2015, the brand reinterprets its tried-and-true concept for the 21st century by having models take selfies on set. In the sea of Dolce-clad bodies, can you spot models Ashleigh Good and Tami Williams alongside actress Monica Bellucci? Stefano Gabbana should leave shooting the campaign to someone else because we can’t even think straight, with everything that’s going on.

Forum member TeeVanity was the first to point out that the ad is “so crowded!”

“Goodness this campaign is such a mess! Way too many people and it looks as if they just shoved any model they could find and put on them whatever they wanted. This looks so lazy and cheap – such a downgrade from their previous campaigns. Vomit,” declared Nomar the moment the images hit.

“How the mighty have fallen. This is just as bad as the previous collections and campaigns. Dolce & Gabbana needs a new creative vision. Did they even bother trying for this one?” asked MON.

GivenchyHomme wasn’t interested either, adding, “They’re really going to fall behind if they don’t start getting with the times. This is so irrelevant for today, I don’t know who would find this appealing.”

You best believe Benn98 wasn’t feeling it either. “Jesus wept!! Hands down the worst campaign I’ve seen in years,” he announced.

Khloe Kardashian Addresses Instagram Haters in the Best Way Possible

Move over Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian’s latest Complex magazine spread is about to break the Internet. The August/September 2015 issue features Khloe as its cover star, showcasing racy photos of her fit and toned body. Clearly, it’s this sister’s time to shine.

According to Complex, the shoot was interrupted by a visit from Kim, who coined herself “creative director” of the shoot, asking, “How much nipple we’re allowed to show.” I think we can all agree that the images are striking and powerful sans nipple. Maybe next time, Kim.

“I don’t know if I’m ever gonna feel like ‘Daaamn, you look good,’” she tells Complex. “But I’ve never felt as comfortable in my own skin than I do now.” Apparently feeling good in your own skin brings out the crazies. Shortly after posting the stunning cover image on Instagram, Internet trolls were quick to say that her entire body was airbrushed and Photoshopped. In natural Kardashian form, Khloe posted a photo of the untouched image directly beside the one that appears in the magazine spread: 

“This one is for all the troll haters out there that cannot seem to give me an ounce of credit for my daily workouts!” she says. “The image on the left is an unretouched photo from the actual camera on the day of the shoot. The image on the right is the retouched photo. Yes skin is smooth and shadows are removed but I still think I look good on the left image. Flaws and all.” Hard work pays off, Khloe. Keep up the good work.

Gigi Hadid Is Topshop’s Fall 2015 Campaign Star

Topshop manages to snap up all of the most current models for its campaigns and its latest big catch is Gigi Hadid. The Fall 2015 campaign is her first for Topshop and was shot by Tyrone Lebon in his hometown of London. The styling comes courtesy of Kate Phelan, who has created the perfect fusion of effortless jeans-and-tee pairings with sharp tailoring and luxe faux fur.

Gigi has already built herself quite the modeling portfolio, counting the likes of Chanel and Balmain amongst her previous employers. Bagging the Fall 2015 campaign of quite possibly the U.K.’s coolest fast-fashion retailer indicates that she’s not going anywhere soon.

Being the daughter of model and reality TV star Yolanda Foster and BFFs with the Kardashians helps to raise your star status, but Gigi also believes that the success of models these days boils down to the power of their social media fan bases. She recently explained in an interview with Grazia Daily that “for a long time you would see a girl for one season and then you’d never really hear about her again. Now models are getting to create a fanbase that keeps them around.”

Unfortunately, the campaign pieces aren’t available to buy just yet, but Topshop has revealed that the lookbook will be available to shop very soon. So, watch this space for updates Gigi fans!

The Bondi Hipsters have been releasing interviews with Amy Schumer and Bill Hader all week, but the latest instalment really takes the cake.

“Turning gender-specific questions on their head”, Dom and Adrian ask Bill a number of questions which would typically be geared towards a female, like what he’s wearing and how he juggles family life with a career.

Here, the Bondi Hipsters perfectly highlight how these questions have become a regular fixture in media interviews for female talent and not for their male counterparts. Plus, the up-and-down camera view on Bill’s outfit and the twirl request really hit the nail on the head.

Sportscraft’s newest ambassador, Naomi Watts, is back and better than ever for the Aussie label’s Spring 2015 campaign.

The actress models the store’s new wares against a picturesque beach backdrop, with Pages Digital reporting that the campaign was shot by Naomi’s own brother, Ben Watts.

“It’s great to be back with the Sportscraft team and I’m excited to see the new collection,” 46-year-old Naomi said. “Spring is always a good time for fashion, flowing fabrics and strong colours.”

This is Naomi’s second season as an ambassador for Sportscraft, continuing on with one of the most fitting ambassador choices that’s ever been made.

“It’s very flattering to be invited to work with important brands, and the fact that it’s Australian… and obviously my heart is still always in Australia,” Naomi explained in a behind-the-scenes video when she first jumped on board with the label.

Net-a-Porter Is Returning to Hamilton Island

Net-a-Porter has announced its second consecutive partnership with Audi Hamilton Island Race Week 2015, following a successful poolside runway presentation last year.

The week-long event runs from August 15 to August 22, and will see Net-a-Porter’s senior buyer, Holly Russell, host a cocktail reception for the opening weekend. “This year Net-a-Porter’s cocktail reception will allow guests to preview an edited selection of FW15 runway looks from some of our leading designers,” she explained in a news release.

Net-a-Porter will also host a private Style Suite for guests at the Qualia Resort, which will offer a curation of looks from the world’s leading designers. “Our brilliant personal shopping team will be on hand to offer Net-a-Porter style advice in our Style Suite for the remainder of the week, ” Holly added.
