Fashion Month is wrapping up, and while we’re always excited to see familiar faces grace the runway, we’ve got our eyes peeled for the next big model. One particular girl that has our forum buzzing is Aya Jones, a new face at Paris’ Silent Models and at New York’s The Lions.

From the moment she set foot on the Prada runway last week, Aya has pretty much enthralled our forum members, who are already predicting big things for the 5-foot-10-inch beauty. As Mr-Dale wrote, “She was the highlight of the show for me. Exquisitely beautiful.”

HeatherAnne agreed, “Same. Not many standouts, but she was certainly one of them. Stunning girl.” For TheoG, it was love at first sight: “She stole the show for me, I instantly wanted to know who she was.”

The gravy train kept running for Aya throughout Paris Fashion Week. She appeared on runways for Paco Rabanne, Nina Ricci, Valentino, Viktor & Rolf, Giambattista Valli, Sacai and Maison Martin Margiela. Not bad for a newcomer.

“WOW! So stunning. I could totally see her getting the campaign or possibly a VI cover,” gushed orchidee. “It’s like she gets better with every shot of her I see,” StoneSkipper agreed.

It seems like this gorgeous girl is really going places. The only problem? She doesn’t appear to be *too* active on social media. We peeked at her Instagram account (@iamayajones) and there are only three photographs. But we have a feeling there will be many, many more to come!

Watch: Dove Releases ‘Legacy’ as Part of Its Self-Esteem Project

Over 10 years ago, Dove started the conversation about “real beauty” to help create a world where beauty is a source of confidence. Today, the brand announced that it will be releasing a new film titled Legacy as part of the Dove Self-Esteem Project, which aims to reach 15 million young people by the end of 2015. The film shows how important it is for women to see the beauty within themselves, so that those positive thoughts and feelings can be passed on to the younger girls in their lives.

In the clip above, mothers and daughters wrote two lists; what they like and dislike about the way they look. In the end, it is revealed that the daughters’ lists are similar to their mothers’ lists, which shows how connected the girls are when it comes to their feelings on beauty and self-image and how their mothers influence these thoughts.

Naomi Campbell Has a Serious Acting Job Now

Image: WENN.com

Naomi Campbell is hands down the best thing about The Face. Her stern advice to young models and take-no-sh•t attitude really makes the show so entertaining. If there’s anything the supermodel knows (besides modeling and posing), it’s drama, and she’ll be putting her skills to the test with the new acting gig she’s lined up.

Naomi has been tapped for a role on Empire, a Fox series about a record label exec and his family. She will have a recurring role on the show, starring alongside Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson. Her character, Camilla, is dating the son of the label’s owner (Howard), poised to inherit the company. Apparently, Naomi is a natural at the acting thing. Producer and co-creator Lee Daniels calls her “a beautiful actress,” noting that she is “underrated.” Hmm.

Lee and Naomi are friends, so he may be a little generous with his words, but part of modeling is about playing a character, so if Naomi can tap that mood and make Camilla believable without delivering a choppy performance, we’re pretty sure she’s going to nail it.

Will you be watching Naomi on Empire?

Frank & Oak Launches First Footwear Collection

Frank & Oak article

Contemporary menswear brand and e-tailer Frank & Oak already has modern men covered on the clothing front, but we all know how a stodgy pair of shoes can ruin a good thing. As a result, the Montreal-based label has launched its first footwear collection for the discerning dude.

Unsurprisingly, the collection of shoes, sneakers and boots draws its influence from the clean lines of Scandinavian design. The country’s stark landscape and contemporary architecture were reference points for the classic slip-ons and lace-ups that have been reimagined with a minimalist spin. The high-top Apollo style ($155 USD) comes in a leather and suede mix, while the classic Parc sneaker ($135) and Charlie slip-on ($95) come in sleek, unadorned leather and suede respectively.

“It can be difficult to find versatile men’s shoes that are well made, on-trend and accessible,” said Ethan Song, co-founder and CEO of Frank & Oak in a statement. “We’ve created a new classic, and we’re confident it will check all of the boxes.” And so are we.

The three aforementioned footwear styles are currently available here, while November will see the launch of a selection of Chelsea boots, brogues and chukkas.

Gisele Bündchen Makes an Appearance at Chanel’s Spring 2015 Show (Forum Buzz)

Many forum members take note of the casting at the shows during Fashion Week as opposed to the actual clothes on display, so it’s no wonder we couldn’t help but notice Gisele Bündchen‘s nonchalant presence at Chanel this morning. The Brazilian beauty, who’s no stranger to the French fashion house, walked the Spring 2015 catwalk presentation for Karl Lagerfeld held at the Grand Palais during Paris Fashion Week. Gisele remains selective of the brands she struts for, but walked solo after an array of models like Cara Delevingne and Binx Walton opened the show. The current face of the brand’s Les Beiges cosmetics collection walked before hundreds of onlookers wearing a taupe swimsuit with matching striped cardigan teamed with a pair of knee-high boots. Gisele even joined in with the feminist riot toward the end of the show.

If the runway appearance wasn’t quite enough for you, we have the much-anticipated ad for Chanel No. 5, which Gisele was tapped for back in May, to look forward to because it is due out at the end of 2014.

Forum members voiced their opinions regarding Gisele’s latest gig inside her dedicated thread. “I suppose Chanel is the one show that Gisele can’t dictate whether she opens or closes,” shared ALAUU, surprised at the fact Gisele didn’t open or close the runway spectacular.

“Yeah, my bad, I saw her picture posted first in the thread, so I thought she opened. Kinda random for her status to be somewhere other than opener/closer spots,” replied Littlearthquakes.

‘Everything Is Too Much’ with Jessica Chastain’s UK Harper’s Bazaar Cover (Forum Buzz)

We just love it when a magazine enlists someone unexpected as its cover subject, but it appears Harper’s Bazaar got it all wrong with its latest installment. The U.K. edition of the Hearst-owned title tapped Jessica Chastain for the November cover. Photographed by David Slijper, the 37-year-old Golden Globe winning actress posed wearing a show-stopping piece from Armani Privé.

Impressed? Our forum members sure had a lot to say. “Looks more appropriate for December than November. Glad that the color is more intense on the cover, because the editorial previews looks very dull,” stated Benn98, who then went on to say, “What a surprising choice, of course I don’t mind her at all.”

“It is too festive…but anyway the cover is very charming and glamorous,” replied GlamorousBoy.

KateTheGreatest shared her view: “I find her so incredibly boring but I like the pic of her in the green dress (although her eyes look weird).”

Another forum member with mixed views was Kanna, who commented, “Both on the cover and in the ed the dresses are fabulous, and I love the setting also, but it’s Jessica’s face that bothers me. She looks manly and stiff in these.”

“This has a lot of potential because it’s beautiful at a glance, but I hate how stiff she looks in these photos or the Photoshop that’s done to her to make her look that way,” posted lawaldorf.

“I don’t really like her makeup, it is so pale. And the photos could be more colorful, but she is gorgeous!” noted Anna147.

“Ouch, everything is too much! She looks like [a] Christmas tree,” declared a dissatisfied narcyza.

Are you a fan? You may prefer the images of Jessica inside the issue, which can viewed in our thread. Check them out and join the discussion here.
