Naomi Campbell and Others Strut Their Stuff for Steven Meisel’s Campy Moschino Campaign

Steven Meisel has hit yet another home run (we’re willing to overlook his current Chloé campaign) with the unveiling of Moschino’s advertising campaign for Spring 2018. Jeremy Scott has hired Meisel to shoot the Italian label’s mainline campaigns since 2014 and each one has been a success. The legendary lensman proves his worth, once again, with the latest campaign starring a bevy of models walking a vintage-style fashion show, styled by Carlyne Cerf de Dudzeele. Naomi Campbell flashes a smile while strutting her stuff down the makeshift runway, while beauties Yasmin Wijnaldum, Aube Jolicoeur, Adut Akech and Liya Kebede follow suit in the remaining images.

The campaign received a standing ovation from our forum members. “Meisel’s having a very busy season! This is beyond cheesy but it’s Moschino so it makes sense,” approved Lola701.

“OK, I LOVE this. It’s so tacky, campy and gaudy,” wrote Benn98. (more…)

Same Concept, New Designer and Photographer for Chloé’s Spring 2018 Campaign

In the latest game of designer musical chairs, Natacha Ramsay-Levi showcased her debut collection for Chloé during Paris Fashion Week in September and now her first advertising campaign for the French label just dropped. Still easily identifiable as Chloé, a bevy of models, including Alex Mark, Charlene Högger, Eliza Cummings, Fran Summers, Hayett McCarthy, Jing Wen, Line Kjaergaard, Makala Johnson, Radhika Nair, Rianne van Rompaey and Sophie Koella, come together for the feminine, fresh Spring 2018 campaign.

Since we half suspected the images were shot by someone like Charlotte Wales, our forum members were shocked to learn that Steven Meisel was behind the lens. “This was shot by Meisel? Seems like Natascha wanted to start off with a bang, but the actual campaign is a bit disappointing. And I also hate when girls are used as backdrops. Jing deserves her own shot,” fumed forum member mathiaskatz at once.

“For me, it’s a waste to use Meisel and to keep the same concept they have had for almost more than a decade now,” Lola701 pointed out. (more…)

Serena Williams Lands Her Third Vogue Cover, Posing With Baby Daughter Alexis

We should’ve seen this coming from a mile away: Serena Williams and her adorable baby daughter pose together on the cover of Vogue‘s recently unveiled February 2018 issue. After all, Anna Wintour has been a long-time champion of the tennis ace, including rooting for her at tennis matches, securing an exclusive of Serena’s wedding photographs for Vogue‘s website and placing her on the cover of Vogue twice before. Shot by famed photographer Mario Testino and styled by Tonne Goodman, Serena is all smiles in red Versace while carrying four-month-old daughter, Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr.

Unfortunately, the cover wasn’t a winner for tFS forum members. “You have got to be kidding me. The image looks so pedestrian af! I’d mistake this for an Instagram holiday photo! Where’s the goddamn glamour?” asked MON the moment the cover struck.

“How long until Anna retires? OMG, this is so bad. Another year, with Anna’s favorite pets. I love Serena, but again? This is bad in every single way,” disapproved caioherrero. (more…)

Grace Elizabeth and Luna Bijl Elevate Chanel’s Otherwise Boring Spring 2018 Campaign

There’s no denying that designer Karl Lagerfeld is a genius, yet his photography skills often leave a lot to be desired. As the Spring 2018 advertising campaigns continue to trickle out, Chanel’s is the latest to drop and we cannot help but feel…disenchanted. After commissioning an elaborate set for the show, Lagerfeld opted for a simple concept for the new mainline campaign, photographing beauties Grace Elizabeth and Luna Bijl in his legendary Paris photo studio. Keeping things bright with pastel backgrounds, Carine Roitfeld was left to her own styling devices while the girls tried their best to take the campaign images to another level.

Did they succeed? The majority of our forum members weren’t so sure. “He is not even trying anymore as far as his photography is concerned,” stated KissMiss at once.

“Agreed,” replied simon. “He could’ve done so much more with these two fronting the ad. Regardless, I’m so happy with his model choice this time!” (more…)

Kaia Gerber Serves Supermodel Vibes on the Cover of Vogue Paris for February

Emmanuelle Alt sure does love a good flashback to the 80s and this is clearly evident with the February 2018 cover of Vogue Paris. Gigi Hadid and Others Star in Valentino’s Striking Spring 2018 Campaign

Leave it to Dutch photographic duo Inez van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin to give a brand like Valentino a fresh and exciting new image (which was sorely needed after the Terry Richardson trainwreck campaign for Resort 2018). The charming and energetic Spring 2018 campaign stars models Gigi Hadid, Adut Akech, Aurora Talarico, Felice Noordhoff, Oumie Jammeh and Rianne van Rompaey and the result is sheer brilliance.
