Over 10 years ago, Dove started the conversation about “real beauty” to help create a world where beauty is a source of confidence. Today, the brand announced that it will be releasing a new film titled Legacy as part of the Dove Self-Esteem Project, which aims to reach 15 million young people by the end of 2015. The film shows how important it is for women to see the beauty within themselves, so that those positive thoughts and feelings can be passed on to the younger girls in their lives.
In the clip above, mothers and daughters wrote two lists; what they like and dislike about the way they look. In the end, it is revealed that the daughters’ lists are similar to their mothers’ lists, which shows how connected the girls are when it comes to their feelings on beauty and self-image and how their mothers influence these thoughts.
Naomi Campbell is hands down the best thing about The Face. Her stern advice to young models and take-no-sh•t attitude really makes the show so entertaining. If there’s anything the supermodel knows (besides modeling and posing), it’s drama, and she’ll be putting her skills to the test with the new acting gig she’s lined up.
Naomi has been tapped for a role on Empire, a Fox series about a record label exec and his family. She will have a recurring role on the show, starring alongside Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson. Her character, Camilla, is dating the son of the label’s owner (Howard), poised to inherit the company. Apparently, Naomi is a natural at the acting thing. Producer and co-creator Lee Daniels calls her “a beautiful actress,” noting that she is “underrated.” Hmm.
Lee and Naomi are friends, so he may be a little generous with his words, but part of modeling is about playing a character, so if Naomi can tap that mood and make Camilla believable without delivering a choppy performance, we’re pretty sure she’s going to nail it.

Contemporary menswear brand and e-tailer Frank & Oak already has modern men covered on the clothing front, but we all know how a stodgy pair of shoes can ruin a good thing. As a result, the Montreal-based label has launched its first footwear collection for the discerning dude.
Unsurprisingly, the collection of shoes, sneakers and boots draws its influence from the clean lines of Scandinavian design. The country’s stark landscape and contemporary architecture were reference points for the classic slip-ons and lace-ups that have been reimagined with a minimalist spin. The high-top Apollo style ($155 USD) comes in a leather and suede mix, while the classic Parc sneaker ($135) and Charlie slip-on ($95) come in sleek, unadorned leather and suede respectively.
“It can be difficult to find versatile men’s shoes that are well made, on-trend and accessible,” said Ethan Song, co-founder and CEO of Frank & Oak in a statement. “We’ve created a new classic, and we’re confident it will check all of the boxes.” And so are we.
The three aforementioned footwear styles are currently available here, while November will see the launch of a selection of Chelsea boots, brogues and chukkas.
Many forum members take note of the casting at the shows during Fashion Week as opposed to the actual clothes on display, so it’s no wonder we couldn’t help but notice Gisele Bündchen‘s nonchalant presence at Chanel this morning. The Brazilian beauty, who’s no stranger to the French fashion house, walked the Spring 2015 catwalk presentation for Karl Lagerfeld held at the Grand Palais during Paris Fashion Week. Gisele remains selective of the brands she struts for, but walked solo after an array of models like Cara Delevingne and Binx Walton opened the show. The current face of the brand’s Les Beiges cosmetics collection walked before hundreds of onlookers wearing a taupe swimsuit with matching striped cardigan teamed with a pair of knee-high boots. Gisele even joined in with the feminist riot toward the end of the show.
If the runway appearance wasn’t quite enough for you, we have the much-anticipated ad for Chanel No. 5, which Gisele was tapped for back in May, to look forward to because it is due out at the end of 2014.

Amal Alamuddin pretty much killed it in the wardrobe department this weekend at her four-day wedding celebration in Italy. One almost forgot that she was taking George Clooney, one of Hollywood’s most eligible bachelors, off the market. But of all the outfits we saw her wear this weekend (the lacy Giambattista Valli Couture dress, that chic ivory Stella McCartney pantsuit), we’ve been waiting to see the most important look she rocked. We are, of course, talking about her Oscar de la Renta designed wedding gown, which we finally have a look at thanks to People.
The bride wore an off-the-shoulder Chantilly lace gown festooned with beads and pearls, and a matching cathedral veil. For accessories, she stuck with pearls and diamond earrings, keeping the jewelry relatively simple. For the post-wedding festivities, she slipped into another de la Renta piece, this one from his Fall 2014 offering.
DUH: Amal looked amazing. It’s easy to forget that she wasn’t the famous thespian getting married this weekend, since she spent much of the four days proving that she is a style star in the making. But in spite of the fact that she can wear the hell out of a pantsuit, something tells us that as a lawyer, she might have more pressing issues to attend to post-nuptials than her next outfit. Still, we’ll be waiting to see what she turns out!
