We’ve Gone off the Deep End: Pumpkin Spice Lattes Now Exist in Sneaker Form

Once September — or these days, late August — hits, nothing and no one is immune to pumpkin spice mania. Science says that the high dosage of sugar, salt and fat in the infamous Starbucks beverage triggers the same dopamine rush and addictive behavior as hard drugs. From where we stand (buzzing with caffeine and wishing we’d stop thinking in caps lock), we’d say that sounds about right.

And yet the public’s obsession with PSLs has evolved beyond chemicals and into the realm of the inedible — and sartorial. To wit: On October 21 at noon EST, New England-based shoe brand Saucony will release the Pumpkin Spice Grid SD, a limited-edition ode to the ubiquitous liquid dessert.

Lara Stone Does Her Best Sharon Stone Impression on Vogue Germany’s Sexy November Cover (Forum Buzz)

Nine years after her very first Vogue cover appearance, Lara Stone has racked up an impressive amount of covers including four this past month alone. She now snatches the cover of Vogue Germany for November, giving us major Sharon Stone Basic Instinct vibes while wearing a white Gucci trench coat with her blonde hair slicked back. Lara was captured by photographer Camilla Akrans for the occasion and we’re loving it.

19-year-old curve model Barbie Ferreira doesn’t shy away from discussing current events. She’s especially outspoken when it comes to matters of social justice and identity. When Leslie Jones couldn’t find a designer to outfit her for her Ghostbusters premiere, Ferreira took to Twitter to lament the unfairness of Jones’ plight. On Indigenous Peoples’ Day, Ferreira posted a screenshot of a Native American woman proclaiming, “F*ck Christopher Columbus.” Day in and day out, Barbie celebrates her professional successes (often via selfie) while repeatedly calling out the fashion industry for its double standards. She expresses herself with wit and candor and we, along with her 353K Instagram followers, can’t get enough.

Which is why we were psyched to see that Teen Vogue #blessed the model with her own mini video series entitled “Body Party.”

In the first episode, Barbie invites her friends (among them transgender model Torraine Futurum, who walked for Gypsy Sport this past New York Fashion Week) to pose in an inclusive bikini shoot, talk body acceptance and, of course, goof around. (more…)

Emma Stone Sports a New Pixie Cut on Vogue’s November ‘Vote’ Issue (Forum Buzz)

As reported on our forums a few months back, Emma Stone was set to return to the cover of American Vogue — and today the magazine confirms the rumors with the unveiling of its November offering. The actress just scored her third cover for the title and looks drastically different from her previous appearances, sporting a short pixie cut for the occasion. Photographed by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott with Tonne Goodman on styling duties, Emma looks anxious (guess last month’s Lupita Nyong’o cover feature really is a tough act to follow) while hiding behind a striped cropped sweater from Michael Kors Collection.

At first glance, the cover seemed to leave our forum members with mixed feelings. “I hate crop tops and this one is so short it gives me literally shivers. Overall it’s a rather basic Emma pictured and barely recognizable as Emma, probably catering a younger public? A feminine Emma with long hair is more to my taste,” shared Nymphaea.

Charlize Theron’s Newest Dior J’adore Fragrance Campaign Is Pure Gold (Forum Buzz)

Charlize Theron has been affiliated with Christian Dior since 2004 and it’s hard to believe the relationship has lasted for over a decade. Charlize’s iconic and memorable campaigns for the French fashion house’s J’adore fragrance continue to captivate. You can imagine our delight when Dior unveiled its brand new campaign for the floral scent, giving J’adore a whole new look and feel. Charlize stuns in a beautiful gold embellished dress, splashing around before the lens of Jean-Baptiste Mondino like the goddess that she is.

The campaign became an instant hit with forum members. “Another epic commercial from J’adore. I think the J’adore and Charlize pairing is the best in recent history. Everything they’ve done turns to gold (wink wink). She’s impossibly beautiful and elegant and powerful. Her charisma is just so commanding,” happycanadian raved in admiration.

Whoopi Goldberg, EGOT winner, is a woman of many passions and talents. She’s a champion of women’s health, hence her range of cannabis-infused menstrual discomfort remedies, which debuted last April. The humanitarian has also put her hard-earned dollars to work producing a reality series starring transgender models, which premiered in September. Her latest business venture is a little more back-to-basics: She likes quirky Christmas sweaters, so she’s making quirky Christmas sweaters.

The Vetements fan will release a limited-edition collection of 11 “ugly” holiday sweaters in partnership with Lord & Taylor and Hudson’s Bay. The knits will be available at 37 Lord & Taylor locations, 29 Hudson’s Bay stores and each retailer’s e-commerce site beginning November 1 — right in time for Ugly Sweater Party season. Coeds rejoice.

The unisex sweaters will range in size from small to extra large and will cost $139 apiece. While that may seem steep for a sweater that features gingerbread men eating each other, you can’t put a price on comfort: “The quality of the Christmas sweaters has gone down for me. They’re not as comfortable and they don’t feel as good,” Whoopi told WWD. “If we’re going to do it, we wanted to do them really well.” Hence, the novelty products are made from wool, cashmere and alpaca.
