Selena Gomez Takes James Corden on a Thrill Ride in This Week’s Carpool Karaoke

This segment of Carpool Karaoke has been brought to you by McDonald’s, a posh brand of ginger extract and a serendipitously placed amusement park somewhere in the proximity of Selena Gomez’s house and the set of the Late Late Show.

At this point, we all know the drill: front view camera pans to celebrity, celebrity and James Corden belt out celebrity’s latest hits, then greatest hits, occasionally with surprise guest accompaniment. Somewhere in the mix there’s a q. and a. aside. (more…)

You Won’t Believe What Bella Hadid Looks Like With Pastel Hair

Today in London @sammcknight1 @thevalgarland Two brilliant minds! Love u both!

A photo posted by Bella Hadid (@bellahadid) on

Stop the presses. Bella Hadid has abandoned her signature “look” — those chemically-treated chestnut-brown locks — in favor of none other than cotton-candy colored tresses. Yes, all this time the natural blonde has been dying her hair to suit her “darker personality,” as the Givenchy Fall 2016 campaign starlet put it to Allure. “And my sister being blonde and me being brunette, it’s a good separation,” she elaborated.

Natasha Poly Serves ‘Flintstone Realness’ on Vogue Spain’s July Cover (Forum Buzz)

We’ve been shouting Vogue Spain’s praises over the past couple of months but it seems as though the mag has taken two giant steps back with its latest issue. Our forums are usually huge fans of Natasha Poly’s various Vogue covers but the Russian beauty’s appearance on the title’s July 2016 offering has failed to impress. Photographed by Nico Bustos, Natasha and team traveled to Africa for the occasion, but unlike Aya Jones‘ breathtaking African shoot back in March, this one oozes a totally different kind of charm. Natasha looks as sultry as ever, vamping it up under the sunshine wearing a slinky tiger-print dress while out in the wilderness.

The cover just wasn’t what our forum members were wanting, unfortunately. “The text, the layout, the colors!! Oh my what an eyesore. The energy of the background and of the pose does not match with the energy of her expression. They started the year with edgy and unconventional cover shots, and now they’re back with their cheesy commercial covers,” pointed out a disappointed MON.

“An eyesore is a perfect description!! Whoa, nothing works here for me!!” cried out Miss Dalloway. (more…)

Snapchat Is (Allegedly) Back at It Again With Plagiarized Filters

Selfies had a dubious rep before Snapchat hit the scene — studies have shown there is a modest link between narcissism and selfie-posting among men and women (though the vague correlation is even smaller among women). However, Snapchat, as big companies are wont to do, has managed to actually politicize the (innocuous until proven guilty) much-loved art of posting pictures and videos of oneself.

In recent months, users have called out the social media channel for its whitewashing and blackface filters (made available in honor of Coachella and Bob Marley, respectively). “Millions of Snapchatters have enjoyed Bob Marley’s music, and we respect his life and achievements,” Snapchat said of the inappropriate filter. “[The lens] gives people a new way to share their appreciation for Bob Marley and his music.” There was no official word on the whitewashing. Apparently, the company thinks we’re taking the whole skin-altering issue too seriously.

In May, Snapchat’s geometric mask filter resembling the work of Russian artist Alexander Khokhlov elicited a social media outcry. That got the company’s attention. The brand swiftly removed the filter and issued the following statement: “We agree that this lens is similar other artists’ creations and we have removed it. We are sorry for this embarrassing mistake and we are taking action to make sure it won’t happen again.”

Yet happen again it has. Two makeup artists are now accusing the channel of intellectual property theft. According to the Ringer, masters of disguise Argenis Pinal (who boasts 128,000 Instagram followers) and Mykie (when you’ve got an Insta following 1.1 million strong, last names are strictly optional) were both blatantly swindled by the app. (more…)

Over 10 minutes of previously unreleased music by the late Prince Rogers Nelson debuted during Versace‘s Men’s Spring 2017 runway show at Milan Fashion Week, with footage of the event (and its amazing soundtrack) now available online.

The 11 minutes of instrumental music heard in the show (below) are straight from Prince’s huge vault of unreleased material and it’s undeniably Prince, given its wailing guitar solos and super-smooth vibes.

The fashion show’s soundtrack comes courtesy of Prince himself, who frequently sent Donatella Versace music for her fashion shows prior to his death in April this year.

Speaking with Billboard, Ms. Versace says she wanted to honour Prince, one of her “closest friends”, by playing his music as the soundtrack to Versace’s latest collection.
