Adwoa Aboah and Her Signature Bored Stare Cover Vogue Arabia’s April Issue

Adwoa Aboah can’t seem to catch a break lately, with our forum members regularly calling out her modeling capabilities. She failed to win us over on Allure‘s current cover and not even Karl Lagerfeld managed to deliver the goods when she became the face of Chanel Eyewear. Now covering Vogue Arabia’s April issue, Adwoa had some pretty big shoes to fill after last month’s instantly iconic Iman and Imaan Hammam covers. Photographed by Cass Bird, cover one (below) features the 25-year-old Revlon brand ambassador against a black background wearing an Alexander McQueen creation while cover two (after the jump) is a closeup of Adwoa in sequined Gucci.

Needless to say, our forums weren’t into Arabian Vogue‘s latest. “The (bored) face of now,” complained helmutnotdead the moment the cover dropped.

“They actually had one of the best Vogue covers last month with Iman and Imaan, to this saddest cover. Adwoa interviewed by Maria Grazia? No thank you,” added Ed. (more…)

Bella Hadid Lands Her Second Vogue Japan Cover

Anything Gigi can do, Bella Hadid can do better right? It’s sure starting to look that way as Bella just scored her second cover of Vogue Japan, following in the footsteps of sister Gigi who also has two covers under her belt. Shot by Patrick Demarchelier (eek!), the current face of Max Mara and DSquared2 and last year’s top cover model fronts Japanese Vogue for May 2018. In the minimalist portrait, Bella gives major side-eye wearing Gucci teamed with Bulgari jewelry (natch), styled by Sissy Vian.

Is it time for Bella to take a long vacation? Our forum members sure think so. “And Bella Hadid once again! Tired of seeing her everywhere like it’s never going to end. Well, it’s just another ‘beauty perfect’ picture of her robotic/usual expression face and not interested by that a single bit. NEXT!” declared Valentine27.

“I wish it was a full body shot. She is not a beauty girl,” GivenchyHomme chimed in. (more…)

Gisele Bündchen (Obviously) Slays WSJ Magazine’s April Cover Shoot

Is there anything Gisele Bündchen can’t do? Whether she’s killing it in the current Versace campaign, giving us life (and body) on the cover of Vogue Japan or kicking back on Vogue Italia, we’re always left in awe. Now the Brazilian bombshell does what she does best on WSJ Magazine for April 2018. The Wall Street Journal‘s monthly glossy regularly receives a ton of praise on our forums and the magazine’s offering for April is no exception. Photographed by Mikael Jansson and styled by George Cortina, Gisele makes a return to the front cover and takes us into the wilderness, captured in a barn for the cover image (below) wearing a combo of Loewe and Vivienne Westwood.

Unsurprisingly, our forum members were unanimously on board with Gisele’s latest. “If you just look at the tiny thumbnail of the cover, Gisele looks like Alesandra Ambrosio. I love the cover. The rural setting feels like a throwback to her Vogue US covers from 2000/2001,” noted mikel.

“Oh I like this very much,” confessed KateTheGreatest. (more…)

Four Top Models Celebrate Vogue Spain’s 30th Anniversary With a So-Tacky-Its-Brilliant 80s-Inspired Cover for April 2018

It’s been a remarkable 30 years since Vogue Spain first made its debut on the newsstands. To celebrate, the title tapped a handful of the industry’s hottest models of today for the April 2018 issue, including Luna Bijl, Yasmin Wijnaldum, Birgit Kos and Blanca Padilla, along with photographer Emma Summerton. Rather than recreate a historical cover, the foursome evoke the 80s (the decade of the magazine’s launch), decked out in Versace’s coveted Spring 2018 collection, styled by Juan Cebrian.

Despite the magazine’s best efforts, the majority of our forum members weren’t in the mood. “I adore the cast (well, maybe minus Yasmin), hate the clothes and those random colors behind the masthead. They could’ve celebrated such a big anniversary better,” complained Srdjan.

“Nah, even the models can’t save it for me! Why are group cover shots so challenging for Vogue? At least [Anna] Wintour’s Vogue has done some amazing group covers, but this just leaves me cold!” exclaimed Miss Dalloway.

A Makeup-Free Christina Aguilera Looks Her Best Ever on Paper Magazine’s ‘Transformation’ Issue

It’s hard to believe that Christina Aguilera has never graced the cover of Vogue before (despite even having a Versace campaign under her belt) and her last notable presence on a major fashion title was W Magazine back in 2011. Leave it to a cutting-edge publication like Paper (a magazine that has a habit of breaking the internet) to drop a cover featuring the American songstress for Spring 2018, much to the delight of our forum members. The team opted to appropriately strip everything back for ‘The Transformation Issue’ with Christina taking off her layers of makeup and going bare-faced, freckles and all, in the refreshing image shot by Zoey Grossman.

Our forum members went wild over the cover. “She looks amazing!” declared TREVOFASHIONISTO immediately.

“She looks very very young without makeup. I also love this natural look on her,” replied forum member khyrk. (more…)

Alma Jodorowsky’s First Vogue Paris Cover Looks Like an Outtake

Emmanuelle Alt continues to feature her favorites on the cover of Vogue Paris, giving Kaia Gerber the February cover and Grace Elizabeth the one for March. Alt now gives up the April cover to French actress Alma Jodorowsky, who embodies true Parisian spirit in the girl-about-town image. Inez van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin captured Jodorowsky on location in New York City wearing a head-to-toe Chanel look (because what could be more Parisian than that, right?) styled by Alt herself.

The cover left our forums divided. “This is the final cover?” asked a dumbfounded Benn98 the moment the cover dropped. “Well, OK. I mean it looks more like a Bijoux or Miss Vogue outtake to me. Once again the art direction seems not to match the shot at all.”

“Cute supplement. Where’s the main issue?” mocked russianelf, suggesting the cover wasn’t up to scratch. (more…)
