Grace Jones Is Finally Getting a Documentary

Grace Jones was possibly one of the most fascinating women of the 70s and 80s, an icon beloved for her androgynous looks and daring approach to modeling. Now, the fashion muse and singer is getting her very own documentary, courtesy of the BBC, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary. Grace Jones – the Musical of My Life is an inside look at the life of the 66-year-old Jamaican fashion icon, directed by Sophie Fiennes.

Jones became the toast of Paris after moving there in the 70s, working for designers like Azzedine Alaïa, Yves Saint Laurent and Kenzo. She was also a muse for photographer Jean Paul Goude, with whom she had a child, posing for some of his most famous images.

From lighting up the stage with dance hits like Slave to the Rhythmto being the subject of some of fashion’s most memorable photos, it is only fitting that the legendary Ms. Jones is (finally!) getting a documentary. And we can’t wait to see it.

A shopper does not a designer make, but a lawyer? Wonderfully so. JOLIE was founded by former lawyer Ivy Chen, who swapped late nights with legal files for late nights with leather. “The legal world seems glamorous, especially on TV, but it’s totally different from fashion — I don’t regret it for one second,” she says of launching her line of streamlined leather carry-on bags with rolling wheels and multi-compartments.

Must Watch: Serena Williams Does Beyoncé’s ‘7/11′ Music Video

We can all agree that Beyoncé’s homemade music video for “7/11″ is fantastic. It is hard to bring anything Bey does to the next level (because well, duh, it’s Beyoncé), but we think Serena Williams may have done exactly just that.

The Vogue cover star filmed her own tennis-themed version of the music video along with a few of her pals, her dog and of course, a camera-equipped tennis racket in tow. We see Ms. Williams spinning with her foot up, busting a move through the hallways of the BallenIsles Country Club in Palm Beach, Florida and smack, smack, smacking those tennis balls like she don’t care.

Filmed with a GoPro camera, Serena may have just made the best “7/11″ parody ever. Watch it above.

Sonam Kapoor is Princess-Perfect in Maticevski

Sonam Kapoor showed us what it really means to be pretty in pink as she stepped out in a breathtaking gown for the L’Oréal Paris Femina Women Awards on Monday, March 23, in Mumbai.

The Indian actress opted for a divine pale-pink piece from Australian label Maticevski’s Spring 15 collection, featuring a fitted bodice with an asymmetrical neckline. The skirt puffed out from the waist, and, although it created a dramatic shape, still managed to look completely elegant.

Sonam modernised the fairy tale vision just a little with a braided updo and a striking red lip, and added some appropriate sparkling jewellery to finish it all off. It’s got to be the prettiest thing we’ve seen all day.

Pip Edwards Proves Her Cool Mum Status in General Pants Co’s Perfect Pair Campaign

Pip Edwards and son Justice

Pip Edwards isn’t a regular mum, she’s a cool mum — just like Regina’s mum in Mean Girls, if you traded in the velvet tracksuit for ripped jeans and a messy lob. OK, so the comparison isn’t all there, but Pip has proved she’s got the awesome mum factor by teaming up with her 8-year-old son, Justice, for General Pants Co.’s The Perfect Pair campaign.

The project is about General Pants Co. finding their customers the perfect pair of jeans for over 40 years, looking to high-profile duos like Isabelle Cornish and Mitch Revs, Carissa Walford and Luke Farquhar, and Andy and Matt from Yolanda Be Cool to team up for photo shoots in support. Our favourite pair, though, would easily be Pip and Justice, mostly because they’re really freakin’ adorable.

“A mother and son pairing is super special,” Pip tells theFashionSpot, noting that the concept of a perfect pair isn’t always limited to romantic couples. Justice, who is also the son and stepson of Dan Single and Bambi Northwood-Blyth respectively, adds,  “We like to do everything together. We like the same things.” (more…)
