Our forums were disappointed when Allure jumped on the Kendall Jenner bandwagon last month for the October issue. The magazine redeems itself, however, with the release of the November 2016 cover featuring the beautiful Amanda Seyfried. Photographed by Scott Trindle, the American actress gives us arguably the strongest cover of the season wearing a velvet blazer and a head full of bouncy curls.
What’s not to love? Our forum members sure were more than content with the outcome. “What a beautiful cover for them. The rich colors and overall mood is very autumnal, which is appropriate. Never knew she had a mole, but Amanda looks great here,” raved a more than delighted Benn98, the second the cover came to light.
“It’s beautiful and classy,” added narcyza, feeling the same way. (more…)
However, assuming FLOTUS and Gaga each have a wall of covers a la the Kardashians, it’s their latest T Magazine covers that deserve to be front and center. In The New York Times style glossy’s second annual “The Greats” issue, released yesterday, the First Lady and Lady Gaga slay in sleek, minimal looks that let their natural beauty shine through.

“The Greats” features seven cover stars in total: Designer Junya Watanabe, writer Zadie Smith, photographer William Eggleston, artist Kerry James Marshall and restaurateur and chef Massimo Batturo join the ladies of the moment.(more…)
Alicia Vikander is having a strong run as brand ambassador for Louis Vuitton. She’s a regular fixture in the front row for Nicolas Ghesquière’s shows, wears Vuitton on the cover of various magazine covers and has numerous advertising campaigns under her belt for the French fashion house. So it should come as no surprise that Alicia now fronts Vuitton’s ‘Spirit of Travel’ ad campaign for fall, which was shot on location in Brazil (presumably right after the Cruise 2017 show). Photographed by Patrick Demarchelier, the Swedish actress wanders around the magnificent Niterói Contemporary Art Museum while leaving us a bit underwhelmed.
The moment we took a sneak peek at the campaign, our forum members were far from overjoyed. “I wish her no ill, but Alicia bores me to tears: in movies, in talk shows and here,” sighed a disapproving Street_a_ Licious.
“I actually like her as an actress, but this campaign is horrific!” exclaimed Nefertiti87. (more…)
These days, creative directors dart from fashion house to fashion house like bees pollinating a very exclusive garden. Not so with Karl Lagerfeld. Choupette’s devoted dad has now spent 51 years designing for Fendi. Considering the brand’s only been around for 90, that’s a pretty astonishing feat.
To celebrate its astoundingly successful open relationship with Lagerfeld and near-century in business, the brand staged a breathtaking haute couture show on Rome’s newly renovated (thanks to Fendi funds) Trevi Fountain. Kendall Jenner and Bella Hadid walked on water, but the elder Hadid, a Lagerfeld favorite, was noticeably earthbound.

As if to compensate for this omission, over the last two months, Lagerfeld has shot Gigi Hadid for Harper’s Bazaar not once, but twice. In the latest round of images, Gigi models Karl’s story tale-inspired Fendi designs. In Harper’s November issue — hitting newsstands today — Lagerfeld discusses what it is that keeps his relationship with the Fendi family alive. (more…)
The Hadid sisters have become fast favorites of Emmanuelle Alt. Bella Hadid is fresh off of Vogue Paris’ September cover while Gigi Hadid bared all on the magazine’s March edition. Now Gigi is back and looking glamorous as ever on French Vogue’s cover for November 2016. This time around, the model is fully clothed in a bejeweled statement jacket from Giorgio Armani Privé. Photographed on location in the city of Rome, Mario Testino captured the decadent moment, with Alt herself on styling duties.
Vogue Paris’ latest left forum members divided in their opinions. “Very glamorous cover for VP, but a bit dated, like a vintage runway presentation. I’m not sure whether I love it or hate it because there’s not much presence here. So it’s all new faces for VP so far, impressive! Two covers for Luna, and two covers for Gigi,” pointed out Benn98.
“The cover is giving off a vintage vibe and I rather like it. I think Gigi looks fabulous, and for some reason the fact that her nails are short and trimmed give a youthful edge to a look that might’ve tipped dangerously into old fashioned, especially when you consider the overall aesthetic they’re going for here on the cover,” replied sweetpop in agreement. This Sunday, in an interview with CBS’ Jane Pauley, Sarah Jessica Parker revealed that our future could hold a third Sex and the City movie — emphasis on the word “could.”
“I will say that the idea, it rests in the butler’s pantry,” said Parker. “It’s not on the table, but somebody is holding it fairly nearby.” Given that SJP has repeatedly shut down rumors of a third Sex and the City installment — the most recent instance of this being last May — this is a pretty promising development.
That said, Parker has put forth a few questionable Sex and the City theories during her Divorce promotional tour. In a recent interview with Nerdist’s Chris Hardwick, she stated the following (is everyone sitting down?): “I used to wonder if Samantha, Charlotte, and Miranda were real. That that wasn’t just her column.” (more…)
