Sleepwear label Peter Alexander has tapped the world’s most popular blockbusters for its latest collection dubbed Movie Night. The pyjama range includes the Aussie designer’s favourite films like Star Wars, Harry Potter, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes and The Wizard of Oz, creating a fun and quirky collection fit for a Friday night in.
It makes total sense, because when microwaving the popcorn and setting up the couch for a much-deserved night off, the first thing we want to do is slip into something comfy — preferably PJs. That way we’re fully prepared for the inevitable shut-eye that tends to happen when watching our favourite flick for the 15th time. Let’s be honest, if you’re donning a sleep tee with Dorothy and the Scarecrow, you probably know how the movie pans out anyway.
We’re talking Darth Vader leggings, Princess Leia cartoon boxer shorts, a onesie decked out with Harry Potter’s signature glasses, “There’s no place like home” sparkly ruby slippers, Marilyn Monroe inspired lace nighties — the whole works. While it totally hits us nostalgically (yes, it’s been more than a decade since we met the movie version of Harry Potter), it’s also super-sweet with its colourful, cute graphics.
So if you’ve got a thing for Luke Skywalker or you’re a complete Marilyn fiend, the playful range for her, him and the kids is now available from Peter Alexander stores and online.
Lionsgate has started to roll out promotional material for the forthcoming The Hunger Games Mockingjay–Part 1 movie, releasing the trailer for the film today. But if you were hoping to see epic shots of Jennifer Lawrence doing badass stuff as her character Katniss Everdeen, you’ll have to wait just a bit longer. The trailer, which features moody shots of Julianne Moore, Natalie Dormer, Liam Hemsworth and Phillip Seymour Hoffman (all whispering about the District 13 revolution) only shows Lawrence at the very end, which we guess is meant to leave us wanting more. Mission accomplished.
According to IMDB, the film is supposed to hit theaters November 21. Never thought I’d say this in the middle of summer, but fall can’t come soon enough.
Check out the trailer below!
If the acting thing doesn’t work out for Cara Delevingne, at least she’s got her stellar modeling career to fall back on. The model’s raked in prominent spots for Chanel, Balmain and Mulberry‘s fall campaigns and now, Cara D’s lending her talents to Topshop, with the brand snagging the model as its first-ever solo campaign star.
Topshop creative director Kate Phelan styled the shoot and Alasdair McLellan was tapped to lens the whole thing. The result? A lot of photos of the model staring really intensely. It’s a stark contrast from the accompanying campaign video, which shows Cara goofing off with a lightsaber and several confetti stars stuck to her face.
Not to be outdone by Cara is her pet bunny, Cecil, who she actually met on set for this particular shoot. Cecil was initially meant to be a prop, but Cara loved him so much, she begged to keep him. And thank goodness they let her — our Instagram feeds have been made more adorable for it.
Cara’s been publicizing the campaign all morning, posting images to her Instagram feed. You can check out a few of the images there, and the rest in our forums.
Below, peep the campaign video and see Cara and Cecil’s first meeting.
Target has collaborated with a bunch of pretty nifty international designers, including Roberto Cavalli, Zac Posen and Stella McCartney, but the Australian department store’s newest partnership will be its biggest yet. As reported by Ragtrader, Missoni and Target have joined forces to create a 220-piece collection, with the range expected to drop as early as October.
How are we only hearing about this now, you ask? Well, apparently it’s been in the making for over a year, with both Target and Missoni working long and hard to make sure the collection meets expectations for both brands. Target Managing Director Stuart Machin told Ragtrader, “This collaboration has been over 14 months in the making, and the Missoni and Target teams have worked tirelessly to ensure the collection offers amazing fashion and quality at great prices.”
The extensive collection will span womenswear, menswear, kids’ clothing and homewares, with several exclusive prints set for the predictably amazing range. And with prices ranging from $10 to $169, decking out our homes and families in highly-covetable Italian design has never been so accessible. Missoni for Target will launch in 60 stores across Australia and online, if you’re worried about the inevitable trampling come launch day.

Cora Corré, Dame Vivienne Westwood’s striking 17-year-old granddaughter, has joined her fashionable family by signing to top agency Next Model Management.
This won’t come as a total surprise to anyone who saw Cora in her modelling debut for LOVE magazine last year, but the daughter of Agent Provocateur founders Serena Rees and Joe Corré has taken a step to cement her new career by signing fully with the renowned agency who also boast the likes of Alexa Chung, Jamie Bochert and Lily McMenamy on its books.
It’s not hard to see why she has been signed up, either, with her dark, striking features and amazing hair, which may not be the flamed hue of her rebellious grandma, but has us feeling jealous nonetheless.
Next Model’s London president Amanda Bretherton is totally taken with her as well, saying, “Cora has such an infectious personality and a true love and understanding of British fashion. Our clients love her — she is so beautiful and fun to be around. She is part of the new wave of bright young London things. We are thrilled to be representing her at Next.”
Unsurprisingly with her fashion lineage, Cora has already had a stint on the catwalk, walking for Westwood’s Gold and Red label collections in London and has also walked for Giles. So the Brits are already team Cora, in and out of the family.
