Vogue Ukraine Closes Out the Year With Yet Another Stellar Cover

This has been a monumental year for Vogue Ukraine. Producing fantastic cover shoots one after the other, the title has secured a spot as one of the best international fashion glossies of 2017. Last month’s covers featuring Othilia Simon received a lot of praise and this month’s covers are just as outstanding. Newbie model Dorit Revelis makes her debut on three dazzling front covers, shot by Ukrainian-born photographer Jens Ingvarsson (also making his Vogue cover debut).

TFS forum members continue to be impressed by Vogue Ukraine, but seem to be tiring of the multi-cover trend. “The second cover (below) is ALL I NEED. Pure perfection. The others make it look like a child’s magazine. However, please STOP IT with the multi-covers. It doesn’t add anything. The multi-covers every month shows that they’re undecided so they just release all. Stop it. Pick the BEST photo and stick to it,” MON suggested.

“I agree 100%,” replied MyNameIs. “It’s not just a problem at Vogue Ukraine, but most publications. The middle cover is perfection. The other two seem like an afterthought. I do love the colors in all three though.” (more…)

Edie Campbell Poses for Vogue China’s Disappointing December Cover

There’s no denying that Vogue China has let standards slip this year as the magazine has produced a series of misses. From making the unforgivable mistake of hiring Terry Richardson to doing Karlie Kloss a disservice on the June cover, our forum members have spent plenty of time calling the magazine out. (The knockout Gigi Hadid cover for March provesit hasn’t all been downhill.) As Vogue China closes the book on 2017, Edie Campbell makes a return to the cover, posing for photographer Patrick Demarchelier in the great outdoors wearing a look from Chanel’s Cruise 2018 collection.

After checking out the cover, our forum members were divided in their opinion. “It looks like a Vogue Australia cover,” described OllieJE straight away.

“It does look very Vogue Australia, but I find it exceptionally beautiful,” said Benn98. “It’s nice to see something natural for this edition, especially after the Kris [Grikaite] cover. I like everything, the dress against that earthy setting, her makeup, pose.” (more…)

Alexa Chung Is a Random Choice for Vogue Netherlands’ December Cover

As soon as we heard the news of Alexandra Shulman‘s British Vogue departure, our first thought was that Alexa Chung would never grace the cover of Vogue again (since Shulman was Alexa’s biggest and most loyal supporter). Now, out of nowhere, Alexa surprises us on the cover of Vogue Netherlands for December 2017, photographed by Marc de Goot. Wearing a wild Ronald van de Kemp creation, the Brit style icon turned fashion designer looks far better than she did on British Vogue‘s “tragic” June 2017 cover.

TFS forum members were left scratching their heads over the choice of cover star. “How random…” voiced forum member MON upon seeing the cover, about to set the tone for comments to follow.

“I hardly doubt anyone knows her here… that is if they will even recognize her,” added a dumbfounded anlabe32. (more…)

Amber Heard Wears the Glitter Eye Trend on Allure’s December Cover

It’s hard to believe that Amber Heard’s last notable cover appearance on a fashion magazine was for Marie Claire back in December 2015. Allure now reminds us of Amber’s existence with the newly unveiled cover for December 2017. This has been a monumental year for Allure with a string of successful covers, including a diversity issue, an anti-anti-aging issue and a cover starring hijab-wearing model Halima Aden. Unfortunately, Allure‘s latest disappoints with a close-up of a bejeweled Amber, photographed by Daniel Jackson.

Our forum members weren’t here for it. “Didn’t even realize this was her,” exclaimed 333101 the moment the cover struck.

“I think the new Allure is allergic to glamour, instead they churn out looks more suited to getting wasted at a music festival. Amber already looks like she is,” wrote an uninterested tigerrouge. (more…)

Daisy Ridley Delivers Her Best Cover Yet for UK ELLE’s December Issue

After fronting the November cover of Vogue and the winter issue of V Magazine, Daisy Ridley scores her third major fashion magazine cover in the past month for the December 2017 issue of UK ELLE. Once again winning over our forum members, Daisy looks sophisticated wearing a sleek, tailored Giorgio Armani blazer that puts us in the mood for the party season ahead. Photographed by Liz Collins, the magazine continues its wave of success, churning out yet another fantastic cover to close out the year on a high.

Our forum members loved it. “Great cover, to the point, no nonsense, festive!” applauded Nymphaea.

“Nice that they haven’t complicated things and have let her beauty come through. But I’m biased because I think she’s great,” chimed in tigerrouge. (more…)

Gal Gadot Commands Attention on ELLE’s Striking December Cover

The December covers are starting to roll in with US ELLE being the latest to drop its offering for the holiday season. Following the magazine’s ‘Women of Hollywood‘ issue and what is believed to be Robbie Myers‘ last edition for ELLE, actress Gal Gadot commands our attention with a striking, straightforward cover image. The Wonder Woman actress was photographed by Paola Kudacki wearing a black Solid & Striped swimsuit teamed with a selection of Tiffany & Co. jewelry.

Members of our forums were pleasantly surprised. “I quite like this! The symmetry, the tan, and overall athletic strong woman vibe. I think we should judge this next to the rest of ELLE‘s 2017 covers, then we’ll see how strong it is. Robbie is definitely ending on a high, IMO,” Benn98 stated.

“While I hate it when magazines shun a festive cover for December, I’m liking the look of this! I like how the styling reflects Gal’s Wonder Woman character by the stylist’s choice of jewelry, Gal’s commanding presence and the strong pose. This is one of those cover images which is just guaranteed to work,” voiced vogue28. (more…)
