The girls of Victoria’s Secret are without a doubt having a moment on the Spanish newsstands right now. Alessandra Ambrosio currently stars on Harper’s Bazaar Spain’s latest offering and now Vogue Spain has selected a handful of the Angels to pose on the front of its recently revealed May 2016 issue. Continuing its winning streak, the magazine welcomes beauties Martha Hunt, Sara Sampaio, Jasmine Tookes, Stella Maxwell, Taylor Hill, Romee Strijd and Elsa Hosk onto the cover, huddling together at the beach as photographer David Bellemere captures the serene moment.
The cover just begged for debate on our forums and that’s just what it got. “So well done! When I read the title, and clicked on the thread I expected this to be a tacky mess, but it’s ethereal, and beautiful. Group covers are so hard to do, but they really hit it out of the park here. This is a great year for Vogue Spain, so many good covers and issues,” Miss Dalloway applauded, setting us off on a high note.
“Gorgeous! I love these kind of group covers,” favored MyNameIs instantly. (more…)
Aussie rap superstar Iggy Azalea has quashed rumours that she and boyfriend Nick Young of the Los Angeles Lakers have broken up.
After a video of Young and teammate D’Angelo Russell discussing relationship misconduct emerged, rumours that the Mullumbimby-born star had ended things with Young inevitably surfaced.
Azalea took to Twitter yesterday to dispel the rumours, writing: “I havent broken up with nick. We are together and I would love to be given a little (a lot) of privacy on the matter.”

In a move that will puzzle anyone who knows anything about marketing, today MAC Cosmetics announced its newest collection, MAC Good Luck Trolls. We can only think of one setting in which one would actively embrace the beauty aesthetic of the “wild-haired dolls of your youth [and] their rainbow tufts, bejeweled bellies and lucky charms” — and, after next weekend, that occasion will have officially passed.
The “crazy-hued collection as silly as the characters themselves” won’t be available online until July 28 with an in-store release date of August 4. That’s just in time to miss every major music festival save New York’s Electric Zoo, including, most notably, this weekend’s Coachella, which is possibly the only space in which we’d forgive wearers of the line’s “frosted chartreuse green” pigment and “transparent sky blue with fine pink reflect” lip gloss. Considering the fondness for metallic lips and eyes, unconventional hair colors and hair glitter at this year’s California-based festivities, you’d think MAC would’ve timed the release of the collection to cater to its most promising base. We’re sensing another Taylor Swift image-buoying crossover on the horizon, and we’re psyched. The multiple Grammy Award-winning artist’s recent Heidi Slimane-inspired Vogue cover shows Swift in a whole new light and it’s very much a magic hour, heavenly type of glow.
“We thought that we could take Taylor — who is a beautiful, beautiful girl but has been a little bit more conservative in her fashion choices — and turn her into a Hedi Slimane rock ‘n’ roll girl,” said Anna Wintour of the breathtaking May spread. “She was completely up for it and loved it, and is going to hopefully continue with this look.” We wholeheartedly agree, and based on Swift’s appropriation of the towering Vetements boots she wears in the editorial and her recent transition to platinum blonde, we’d say Wintour’s fashion forecasting skills are sharp as ever. When disc jockey extraordinaire Diplo transformed himself into the “vomiting rainbow” Snapchat filter this past Halloween, it got us thinking. If only there was a way to bring our favorite hilarious and inexplicably mesmerizing Snapchat personas to life. Well, for those of you obsessed with the “licking dog” lens, we’ve got good news. A new beauty trend just in from Korea — where seemingly all great skin and makeup tricks are born — takes its inspiration from (wo)man’s best friend.
“Puppy eye” creates the illusion of a rounder, larger eye, giving wearers an innocent, Bambi-esque gaze. The playful K-beauty liner technique is a welcome answer to the omni-present sultry cat eye and, thankfully, much easier to master. (To be frank, infuriatingly uneven wings were half the reason we hopped on the natural makeup bandwagon.) (more…)
W Korea is most definitely tapping into the social media generation of models in 2016. The publication secured Kendall Jenner for its big spring fashion edition back in March, ultimately receiving dismal reviews. Now two months later, W Korea proudly unveils its May issue featuring Bella Hadid. Fresh from the cover of Harper’s Bazaar Spain, the younger Hadid sister stars on two separate covers for the occasion (a W Korea staple), sporting some very questionable and rather tacky outfits before the lens of controversial photographer Terry Richardson.
Unlike Bella’s Spanish Bazaar cover, however, forum members weren’t so keen on the results. “Easily her ugliest covers to date. What have they done to her face? Oh and the second cover features such a weird angle. Too coy for Terry, can almost imagine him preferring an open leg shot instead. In a way I can deal with Bella’s career direction – let her build up momentum and practice with these smaller covers and edits. So that by the time she gets to Vogue at least she’ll be a bit more developed than the others,” proclaimed Benn98 the moment the covers dropped.
“I expected so much better,” disapproved MON. (more…)
