Bella Hadid Gives Good Face on Allure’s Beautiful September Cover

Bella Hadid hasn’t been on the cover of a major fashion magazine in a hot minute (especially considering last year’s overwhelming stats), yet we’re still thinking about her last cover, for Vogue Mexico, which blew us away. She now makes a stunning return on the cover of Allure, after a two-year hiatus for the magazine. Making up for recent botched covers featuring Lily James and Janelle Monae, Allure‘s September 2018 issue, photographed by Daniel Jackson, features Bella serving good face (something she’s noted for around here) as she stares over her shoulder with piercing blue eyes and coral lips.

Were our forum members impressed with Allure‘s latest? “This is possibly the first Allure cover under the new regime that I actually like – and Bella looks like a human being, instead of a perfect plastic person,” said tigerrouge upon checking out the cover.

“It’s a lovely fresh cover, and certainly a lot better than any of their recent output,” 333101 echoed.

“This is amazing! She works so well when she’s natural and soft. It’s a great alternative to the blow-up doll look we’re accustomed to,” voiced GivenchyHomme.

Abbey Lee Kershaw Outshines Adwoa Aboah and Gigi Hadid in Fendi’s Fall 2018 Campaign

Karl Lagerfeld is known for giving his muses all the plum advertising campaigns he photographs. However, after last season’s disappointing Fendi campaign starring Vittoria Ceretti and Taylor Hill, a new cast is ushered in for Fall 2018. Lagerfeld welcomes back old favorite Abbey Lee Kershaw (a much-welcomed sight considering his past choices), who is joined by Adwoa Aboah and Gigi Hadid for the studio-shot campaign.

A certain someone is clearly the campaign’s saving grace, according to our forum members. “Wow, Abbey made it the best Fendi campaign in years!” praised GreyVetiver the moment the campaign dropped.

“Abbey Lee Kershaw’s a nice blast from the past! She sure does make for a refreshing choice of Karl Lagerfeld’s for an advertising campaign nowadays. She looks terrific and kudos to the hairstylist because Abbey’s hair looks downright gorgeous,” vogue28 said.

“Abbey’s Fendi hair is truly giving me life. There’s not enough room for the other girls here, this is Miss Kershaw’s show alone,” added zoom.

Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell and Christy Turlington Disappoint on the September Covers of Vogue Paris

Is Emmanuelle Alt about to ditch the 1980s in favor of the 1990s? It’s sure starting to look that way as she secures a trio of 90s supermodels for Vogue Paris’ special ‘Légendes de Mode’ issue for September 2018. While most other editions of Vogue have resorted to giving us celebrities this month, we can always rely on the French fashion bible to showcase models for what is considered the magazine’s most important fashion issue of the year. Kate Moss (channeling Marilyn Monroe) and Naomi Campbell (giving major Tina Turner vibes) were photographed by Mikael Jansson, while Christy Turlington was captured by Inez van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh for a simple black and white portrait.

Despite everyone involved, the covers proved underwhelming to our forum members. “This is bad!” declared zacatecas570 once the cover dropped.

“So disappointed. That Kate Moss image is hideous, it looks inspired by those awful Marilyn Monroe’s Bern Stern images, that already have been used (what hasn’t?) as template for other editorials. Naomi’s cover is slightly better, but she is just a caricature now, her image is totally sterile, I cannot get excited about anything she in,” ranted Les_Sucettes.

This Massimo Dutti Campaign Might Be the Best of the Fall 2018 Season So Far

On what planet are we living where the likes of Zara and Massimo Dutti are producing the best advertising campaigns of the season? While campaigns from Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior and Karl Lagerfeld have fallen flat, Massimo Dutti’s offering for Fall 2018 is a total triumph. Models Rianne van Rompaey and Bo Fasseur are the faces of the Spanish brand this season, transporting us off the coast of Sweden to the island of Faro, captured at various picturesque locations by forum favorite Mikael Jansson and styled by Geraldine Saglio.

Members of our forums were in love with the outcome. “OMG this is beautiful, can’t believe it’s Massimo Dutti! Mikael is truly talented, I love it,” favored elle_gb at once.

“So nice! Massimo Dutti and Zara beat luxury brands in looking luxurious,” stated dontbeadrag.

Cameron Russell Cradles Her Baby on the September Cover of British Harper’s Bazaar

Our forum members often complain about how much British Harper’s Bazaar seems to rely on the British countryside ideal, tirelessly shooting covers and fashion stories on location. Unsurprisingly, the magazine hasn’t strayed from its go-to aesthetic for the September 2018 cover starring Cameron Russell, who cradles her baby son in the heartwarming newsstand cover (after the jump) wearing Ralph Lauren. Photographed by Will Davidson and styled by Miranda Almond, it was the special subscribers cover (below), which pictures the American model and activist jumping for joy dressed in a silk Valentino dress and a pair of Hermes leather boots that really caught the attention of our forum members.

And not because they liked it. “What is up with that styling? It looks she was wearing her casual clothes and was made to fit the dress and twirl. Bam. Cover. Also, she doesn’t look proportionate,” pointed out MON upon checking out the cover.

“OMG, it’s simply terrible! Prairie/Amish realness. It’s the dress, coupled with the angle which made her look like she’s got no neck,” voiced Benn98.

“Cameron is beautiful – but that looks like a country house bed sheet that hasn’t been washed for the last hundred years of its life,” tigerrouge mocked.

Jennifer Aniston Does Effortless Glam for InStyle’s Charming September Covers

It’s hard to believe that Jennifer Aniston’s last appearance at the newsstand was for Harper’s Bazaar back in October 2017, but she’s now back in the thick of it for September 2018 on the cover of InStyle. Following in the footsteps of Serena Williams, Jessica Alba and Sandra Bullock, Aniston becomes an InStyle cover girl under Laura Brown’s tenure, photographed by Ben Hassett and styled by the magazine’s new fashion director Julia Von Boehm throughout the cover shoot. In the newsstand cover image (below), the American actress looks at ease wearing Alexander McQueen while in the cover sent out to subscribers (after the jump), she lounges in a luxury car dressed in Michael Kors.

The cover was a hit with the majority of our forum members. “The shot is cute and candid! And the edit should be good because this is her first shoot with Hassett, and he’s normally amazing in Vogue Paris,” said forum member Benn98 the moment the covers came to light.

“Gorgeous and inviting. I always got why she is so appealing to readers, and such a great newsstands seller. She knows her image and has no need for making drastic changes, and it works for her,” added Miss Dalloway.
