Cindy Crawford Looks Stiff and Uncomfortable on Tatler’s September Cover

Does the magazine industry secretly have it in for Cindy Crawford? It’s sure starting to look that way given the fact that over the past four months, both Town & Country and Vogue Turkey have failed to do the modeling legend justice. We know the industry is currently trying to make Kaia Gerber happen, but they sure are giving her mom a hard time. Now it’s Tatler that manages to botch up its shoot with the original 90s supermodel, as she fronts the September 2018 issue looking stiff and uncomfortable in the cover photographed by Yu Tsai and styled by Sophie Goodwin.

Our forum members made their feelings clear immediately. “Still mad about their art direction, but the styling is too much for her. It looks like your typical high-fashion moneyed equestrian, but you’d never think this woman was once one of fashion’s most in-demand models,” said Benn98 the moment the cover struck.

“When I see her name in a magazine thread, my heart still skips a beat, because I remember back when I was crazy about her. This isn’t bad by modern-day Cindy standards – but I’m glad I subscribe, because I might not be convinced by this particular cover shot to spend £4+ on it at the newsstand,” noted tigerrouge.

Nicki Minaj Finally Gets a Vogue Cover, Fronting Vogue Arabia’s September Issue

It’s almost hard to believe Nicki Minaj has never been on the cover of Vogue before, but leave it to a diverse and risk-taking magazine like Vogue Arabia to be the first to feature the Trinidadian-American rapper. We guess it’s better late than never as Nicki scores the title’s September 2018 issue, fronting two covers photographed by Emma Summerton and styled by Anna Katsanis. Following her July American ELLE cover, Minaj stands confident and strong in cover one (below) wearing a dramatic Christian Siriano creation, while in the alternative cover (after the jump) she makes a Marc Jacobs look her own.

The covers left our forums divided. “Vogue Arabia has some of the best covers and content! This is beautiful, I love it!” praised Blayne266 upon checking out the covers.

“Nicki’s first Vogue cover and I am in love, well done Vogue Arabia,” applauded TeeVanity.

“Proud of Vogue Arabia! They’ve been killing their covers this year,” raved an ecstatic bella753.

Kylie Jenner Scores Her First-Ever Vogue Cover for Vogue Australia’s September Issue

Anything Kim Kardashian or Kendall Jenner can do, Kylie Jenner can do better, right? After years in the limelight and a staggering 113 million Instagram followers later, Kylie has just been given her very first Vogue cover (we know, considerably long overdue). Following in the footsteps of sister Kim, the 21-year-old self-made millionaire covers the all-important September issue of Vogue Australia. Photographer Jackie Nickerson teamed up with stylist Christine Centenera to profile Kylie this month, resulting in a bright and vibrant cover.

The cover caused quite the controversy with our unfiltered forum members. “Bad taste,” quipped Perickles the second the cover came to light.

“What a disappointment! Can’t say I’m impressed. To make matters worse you have one of the most odious and inconsequential young women in the world being put onto a pedestal. This has Christine Centenera written all over it. She’s mad about all things Kardashian. It’s just a shame that one of my favorite Vogue editions had to give this girl her first cover. Shameful!” declared Benn98.

Peter Lindbergh Shoots Amber Valletta, Ashley Graham and Others for David Yurman’s Gorgeous Fall 2018 Campaign

We’ve been eagerly anticipating the David Yurman Fall 2018 campaign ever since news of the impressive cast leaked. Now, four months later, the images are finally here. Ditching Bruce Weber (and rightly so), the luxury jewelry brand brings back old favorite Peter Lindbergh to photograph models Amber Valletta, Anna Ewers, Ashley Graham and Joan Smalls on location in Jamaica.

Amber emerging from the water (above) was the first image to surface. “Oh yes! What a fresh, captivating shot. Still think David Yurman’s jewels are the tackiest ever, but I always look forward to their campaigns,” confessed Benn98.

“The timelessness is what I love about those David Yurman ads, and I think it works perfectly for a jewelry brand,” voiced mikel.

“The campaign looks great even if it’s color. To me, Lindbergh always delivers in black and white photo but to see this in color is pleasant,” forum member elle_gb said.

Emma Stone’s September Cover of ELLE Fails to Excite Our Forum Members

Emma Stone has been a rare sight at the newsstand this year, but that’s all about to change with the unveiling of ELLE‘s September cover. The magazine has given us strong covers in recent months, featuring the likes of Kim Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, Nicki Minaj and Ariana Grande. This month, Stone was photographed by Ben Hassett and styled by Samira Nasr in Louis Vuitton (obvs).

Unfortunately, both the cover and Emma’s presence fell flat with our forum members. “Emma Stone in Louis Vuitton. Groundbreaking,” snarked GivenchyHomme.

“Such a shame that this deal means she’s only shot in Louis Vuitton,” added mikel.

“It’s a warm and inviting cover but her hands and hair are obscuring so much of her face, dodencebt pointed out.

Kris Grikaite and Steven Meisel Make a Dream Team for Max Mara’s Fall 2018 Campaign

Steven Meisel is on a roll this campaign season, having shot for the likes of Versace, Moschino, Givenchy and Zara, to name just a few. Now the legendary lensman is back to photograph Max Mara’s campaign for Fall 2018. Following a clean and crisp Cara Taylor offering last season, Meisel photographs Russian beauty Kris Grikaite (a firm favorite of Prada) around a street-like setting as she dashes across the pavement in clothes styled by Carine Roitfeld.

Members of our forums were ecstatic over the outcome. “OMG, YESSS! Meisel FINALLY working with Kris!” said a delighted guimon.

“The real dream team,” stated helmutnotdead.

“I love this. Kris looks great and I’m happy the background is not white like in the previous campaigns,” Lausanne admired.
