Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid, Ashley Graham and Others Celebrate Diversity on the March Cover of Vogue

Models on the cover of Vogue? No, you’re not dreaming. Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Beyoncé were the names tossed around our Cover Rumor Thread in anticipation of Vogue‘s upcoming March edition, but we’re gifted a bevy of today’s hottest models instead. Liu Wen, Ashley Graham, Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid, Imaan Hammam, Adwoa Aboah and Vittoria Ceretti appear on Vogue‘s diverse cover celebrating the many faces of beauty. Dutch photographic duo Inez van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin are finally given their debut American Vogue cover — after decades of working for the magazine without a single cover to their name.

It didn’t take long for our forum members to generate discussion. “YESSS! Models!! What great casting!” miguelalmeida enthused.

“OMG! I’ve died and gone to heaven. Finally, a US Vogue to be really excited about. I’m especially happy for Imaan. So glad she’s not on the foldout this time,” added an equally impressed mikel. (more…)

Rihanna Goes Blonde for Her Third Harper’s Bazaar’s Cover

Harper’s Bazaar sure is loving pop stars (and the color red) while celebrating its year-long 150th anniversary. Lady Gaga and Madonna have both been given covers and now it’s Rihanna’s turn for March 2017. Marking her third cover appearance for the glossy, Rihanna goes blonde for photographer Mariano Vivanco’s first Bazaar cover shoot. Rihanna smolders on the newsstand cover (below), while on the subscribers cover (after the jump), she stands atop a vintage aircraft in a nod to the magazine’s heritage.

Unfortunately, our forum members weren’t sold on the concept. “Why are magazine editors acting like there’s only five singers, five actresses and five models that need to be used over and over and over again? Honestly? I don’t like the cover, the hair looks too messy for my taste and I don’t like different shades of red,” complained KateTheGreatest the moment the cover dropped.

“Mariano Vivanco, really? So basically Bazaar is now at the level of Vogue Mexico or Brazil? So sad, just when you think they can’t fall any further, they do,” added a disapproving A.D.C. (more…)

Scarlett Johansson Strikes a Powerful Pose on Marie Claire’s March Cover

It’s been quite a while since Scarlett Johansson has appeared on a fashion magazine cover, but much to our delight, she has turned up on the March 2017 cover of Marie Claire. The magazine has been a little erratic lately, giving us covers our forums either love or loathe, and after an envy-inducing Claire Danes cover last month, Marie Claire‘s latest leaves forum members divided. Shot by Tesh, ScarJo poses for a powerful and commanding portrait wearing a glitzy Gucci number.

“She looks beautiful but the styling is atrocious. The angle certain doesn’t help,” voiced forum member dodencebt the second the cover dropped.

“You took the words out of my mouth,” replied Bertrando3 feeling the same way. “Yes, she looks lovely (great hair and makeup) but the styling and angle are not doing her any favors. I’m sure there were better options but they blew it unfortunately,” he declared. (more…)

Naomi Campbell Proves Her Legendary Status on Town & Country’s March Cover

Who better than Naomi Campbell to front a magazine cover with the words ‘legendary style’ splashed across the top? Town & Country gets its cover subject just right for March 2017, enlisting the legendary model herself to lend her fierce beauty and attitude to the glamorous cover shoot. Photographed by Max Vadukul, Naomi wears a stunning navy blue Carolina Herrera gown, proving she’s still amongst the best in the business.

Surprisingly, the majority of our forum members expected a whole lot more. “Every now and then Naomi can hit it out the park but for the most part, I find her work incredibly boring. It’s like editors are happy to have Naomi but just don’t bother doing anything with her,” critiqued A.D.C at once.

“First impression: a Greek goddess eating grapes, but a bit too conceited for my taste. I miss some freshness,” added an underwhelmed Nymphaea. (more…)

Gigi Hadid Delivers Another Knockout Vogue Cover This Month

Gigi Hadid is on her way to earning the title of International Model of the Year for a second year as she continues to set the fashion world ablaze with her unstoppable work ethic and high-profile modeling gigs. We’re only just into February and Gigi has already scored the cover of British Vogue and is the face of numerous fashion brands for Spring 2017. Her latest is one of eight covers (each with a different model) for Vogue China’s March issue, shot by photographer Patrick Demarchelier. The luxe cover shows Gigi wearing a sexy leopard print Saint Laurent dress and wispy hair.

“Eight different covers, all shot by Demarchelier? At least one should be good then. I’m not sold on this one. It looks very half-baked, what’s this hair with that dress and make-up?” questioned an unforgiving Benn98 the moment the cover came to light, making his feelings clear toward the cover.

“Even with 8 covers in total, one with Gigi is just too much. Interested in Imaan’s, Natalie’s and Yasmin’s though,” voiced anlabe32. (more…)

Cindy Crawford Is Barely Recognizable on Vogue Australia’s Questionable March Cover

If there’s one thing our forums love to see, it’s models on the covers of fashion magazines. Over the past couple of months, we’ve noticed a decline in models on the cover of Vogue Australia, but it appears the glossy has heard our cries and enlisted the expertise of 90s supermodel Cindy Crawford for March 2017. A random, yet much-welcomed sight, Cindy was photographed by Emma Summerton looking ravishing in red Christian Dior.

Surprisingly, our forum members were unimpressed. “Wow, what is going on with Vogue Australia? This is just so try-hard, from styling to everything really!” cried Miss Dalloway the moment the cover struck.

“The direction of this cover seems to be all over the place. I don’t get it,” added a confused Nepenthes. (more…)
