MTV Video Music Awards 2010 Fashion Recap

This year, the ladies rocked it, leaving the guys behind in casual attire.

Always outdoing herself as a fashionista to be reckoned with, Lady Gaga walked the white carpet in an amazing Alexander McQueen ball gown and a gold Mohawk feather headpiece.

She later changed into meat dress with matching clutch.

While the look was very put together, right down to her butcher-tied raw meat boots, it seemed more of the focus was on her outfit than the award.

Cher – wearing her fishnet bodysuit and leather jacket from the 1989 video “If I Could Turn Back Time” – gave Lady Gaga her award for “Bad Romance”.

The two singers together on stage reminds us of where we’ve been, and where are heading.

While the guys in Paramore looked put together in their casual clothes, it did seem like they were going to a movie rather than an awards show.  This left singer Hayley Williams looking every bit the front woman in her flower encrusted mini dress.

Rhianna tried to bring back the grunge trend during her performance, wearing a combination of combat boots with a long white tulle skirt, loose fitting camisole half shirt, and sequin headband.  I like how Rhianna pushes fashion with new looks, but this one just didn’t work.

Katy Perry wore a black lace on nude mesh, white ruffled dress by Marchesa that was a bit busy. However, keeping the rest of her look simple and just throwing some colored streaks in her hair made it work.
