Dita Von Teese: The Art of Dressing Like a Lady

Dita von Teese

We’re all about clothes. Obviously. So when searching for fashion inspiration, professional naked ladies aren’t exactly who come to mind. We mean, the point of being naked is not wearing clothes, right? Why would we ever not want to wear clothes, except for when we’re burning Kiki de Montparnasse candles at home with our man?

Despite our love of being clothed, we can’t help but be compelled by burlesque star, Dita Von Teese. She’s really changed the way we view women who get undressed for a living. She is the breathing personification of ‘ladylike’ and exudes nothing but class.

When not performing the art of Le Striptease, Von Teese is, like us, fully clothed, even more so. Only she does it SO much better!

Let’s take a look at Dita Von Teese’s polished image from head to toe:

Hair: Von Teese almost never leaves the house without a picture perfect head full of waves. On Twitter she told a fan that she always sets her glossy black hair with hot rollers.

Makeup: Long a spokesperson for M.A.C. Cosmetics, she has also endorsed the brand on Twitter, citing ‘Ruby Woo’ and ‘Russian Red’ among her favorite red lipsticks of all time.

Clothing: Von Teese claims that she never uses a styling team for any of her looks. The most casual we’ve ever seen her is at Coachella, where she was seen in high-waisted trousers and navy blue Keds. A big fan of body-conscious classics, she is usually out and about in tight gowns – by Galliano, Westwood, or Gaultier – that accentuate her hourglass figure.

Footwear: Von Teese sure loves fancy footwear; whether in heels or flats, from neon pink jazz shoes, to rhinestone encrusted stilettos, she has it all! Never too loud with her outfits, the feet seem to be where she really makes her statements. It can’t hurt that Christian Louboutin is one of her best friends.
