Mila Kunis: Rising Style Star

Natalie Portman may be garnering loads of attention from Black Swan, but her co-star and on-screen rival, Mila Kunis, is also getting her fair share of recognition.

The actress wore a strapless red chiffon dress with an accent belt from Alexander McQueen‘s resort collection at the SAG Awards this past Sunday, where she was up for an award. Kunis also received a Best Supporting Actress Golden Globe nomination for her performance, and proceeded to wow onlookers with an emerald one-shouldered pleated Vera Wang gown on the red carpet.

The 27-year-old was on a fashion roll as early as her appearance at W magazine’s Golden Globe Awards party, where she wore black tapered leggings and an embellished wrap top. Kunis has been landing a ton of high-profile roles in recent years, including memorable turns in Forgetting Sarah Marshall, The Book of Eli, and Date Night. Not bad for an actress who started off playing Jackie Burkhart on That ’70s Show. The Ukrainian-born star has come a long way; she demonstrated her lack of style at the 2000 Billboard Music Awards – that long patchwork coat, combined with her heavy makeup and chunky black shoes straight from the 90s sure wasn’t an outfit that was landing on anyone’s best-dressed list.

After her extended stint on That ’70s Show wrapped, Kunis experienced something of a metamorphosis. Her style evolution was evident back in July of 2008, when she showed up ready to rock in a silver sequined Stella McCartney sheath at VH1 Rock Honors, saluting The Who. She chose to wear a Matthew Williamson grecian dress with a plunging neckline at the October 2009 premiere of her film, Max Payne.

Last February, at the Writers Guild Awards, Mila stepped out in an Herve Leger bandage dress with marvelous cut-outs, which she paired with Brian Atwood heels. Quite the glam upgrade for the voice of the notoriously ordinary Meg, on the animated television series Family Guy!  Making a pit stop to fuel up this past summer, Mila appeared to be channeling her former television persona, sporting 70s-inspired flared jeans and a Jim Morrison tee.

Kunis has displayed a true love for Vera Wang, choosing to wear one of the designer’s fantastic gowns to the Met Costume Institute Gala back in May. The outfit was topped off with a sequin bodice. We think she might have been having an Angelina Jolie moment at the premiere of Black Swan in New York City this past November, where she was outfitted in a deep v-neck chiffon dress from Elie Saab‘s Spring 2011 collection.

Grabbing brunch in late December at Hugo’s out in Studio City, Kunis stayed warm and dry in a sleek trench, infinity scarf, and jet black rain boots.

With her growing roster of impressive fashion choices, we can’t wait to see what Kunis wears on Oscar night!
