It wasn't that long ago that Emma Watson transformed from Harry Potter's Hermione into a fashion-forward star. Now it looks like 15-year-old Abigail Breslin is also trying to make a stylish transition. The former Little Miss Sunshine recently staged her coming out party at the Tribeca Film Festival.

Just check out this very grown-up black dress with sheer ruffle hem paired with a rolled sleeved leather jacket, envelope clutch and black platform heels she wore to the Vanity Fair party at the State Supreme Courthouse. The young actress went blonde for a role in New Year's Eve alongside Sarah Jessica Parker and the hair color does add a new, somewhat sophisticated, dimension. Abigail was already hitting the fashion shows at Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week Fall 2010 in February last year. Decked out in a bright pink band-style jacket, watercolor patterned zip-front dress and knee-high boots, she kept it fresh and youthful.

Perhaps trying to grow up a little too quickly, Abigail opted for a sleek black number featuring an angled neckline for The Cinema Society screening of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse in New York City back in June 2010. While she looked much more age-appropriate in a fitted striped dress at the October 2010 screening of Conviction also by The Cinema Society. The dress was set off by an oversized blazer, chain link bag, and wedge booties.

The sparkly Nicole Miller frock Abigail selected for the Los Angeles premiere of Rango this February was expertly reigned in by the accompanying neutral Elizabeth and James blazer as well as those Valentino pumps. For last month's Tribeca premiere of her film, Janie Jones, Abigail arrived in a tan Dawn pleated top jumpsuit by alice + olivia. The outfit sort of overwhelmed the still-growing rising star.
Abigail’s relatively young, so her style is just beginning to take shape. Judging by her recent red carpet appearances, however, she’s headed in the right direction.
