Jennifer Lawrence may have been nominated for an Oscar thanks to her knockout performance in Winter's Bone, but her upcoming turn playing Mystique in the almost guaranteed summer blockbuster, X-Men: First Class, is sure to solidify her as a true blue movie star. The former TV actress actually has several projects in the works, including a role in the much anticipated Mel Gibson and Jodie Foster flick, The Beaver. She also landed the lead in The Hunger Games and even dyed her hair to better suit the part.

She showed off her new bold brunette locks during her recent David Letterman appearance. Much like her expanding career, this 20-year-old star's style is also evolving and becoming more fearless. Jennifer attended Miu Miu’s Fall/Winter 2011 Paris fashion show in March decked out in a Miu Miu red puff-sleeved silk dress and Duchesse pumps.

Back at the August photocall for her film The Burning Plain on the third day of the 2008 Venice Film Festival, however, Jennifer played it safe wearing a low-key black-and-white tank dress. While the textured grey one shoulder mini she donned for the Los Angles premiere of the same movie in September 2009 was a bit more daring especially with those pronounced deep red lips.

A lacy strapless Proenza Schouler creation was a charming choice for Jennifer's January appearance at the National Board of Review Gala in New York City. The dress was set off with a pair of nude Jimmy Choos. Louis Vuitton's tiered ruffle gown was a superior selection by the nominated young actress for this year's Golden Globe Awards. Even her accessories were on-point including a Judith Leiber clutch, Chopard jewelry, and black Roger Vivier pumps.

Later that month, Jennifer picked another stellar gown for the Screen Actors Guild Awards. Her hot pink Oscar de la Renta Pre-Fall 2011 silk crinkle chiffon number had a draped bodice and a strategically positioned off shoulder collar. A black flip top Radiant Judith Leiber clutch, a velvet belt not found on the original runway version, and corresponding heels were the finishing touches. In February, Jennifer attended the 2011 Independent Spirit Awards in a Dolce & Gabbana combo. The white top and lace maxi skirt were from the fashion house's Spring 2011 collection. Turquoise Lorraine Schwartz bracelets helped add some color, while those Christian Louboutin wedges would look fantastic paired with pretty much anything.
Jennifer's sure to have many more opportunities to shine on the red carpet.
