Diana Vickers may not necessarily be a household name yet, but this singer-songwriter is already branching out, releasing her own collection via Very.co.uk called Dee V by Diana Vickers. The former contestant on The X Factor is a fixture at London fashion week, attending countless shows. Just like this rising star's style, Diana's new line shows a penchant for retro items.
The vibe behind the Brit’s eight-piece capsule collection is whimsical and vintage. A playsuit is made extraordinary thanks to the playful dog print and mesh back, while the contrast collar printed dress with front button detail has a not-so-subtle 60s Mad Men aura. There's also a lined full skirt with bird embroidery and even throwback flared jeans.

Diana loves mixing in old-school pieces like the overall denim shorts she sported back in November 2008 as she was caught leaving The X Factor house in London. Those funky purple fabric peep-toe sandals helped make the look more edgy. Two pieces from Julian J Smith's Spring 2010 collection were paired up for the London College of Fashion's Annual BA Show in June of last year. The orange lace-up detail on her sleeveless blue top coordinated just enough with her mini skirt. That pink leopard pattern clutch and what look like Ossie Clark pumps really didn't do much for the combo, though.

Just a few days later, this shiny blue number by Yong and her high bun made Diana stand out at the 2010 Glamour Women of the Year Awards. Erickson Beamon's beaded necklace and those same shoes from the BA show completed the look. After her performance on the 5 O’Clock Show with Fern Britton at the London Television studios in July 2010, Diana was caught wearing a summery outfit from the Antipodium Resort 2011 collection. The cropped light blue top had a drawstring accent and the skirt featured a fun floral print. Diana was also sporting the Mulberry Neely tote.

For London Spring/Summer Fashion Week 2011 last September, the star went with an electric purple jumpsuit. When it came time for London A/W Fashion Week 2011 this February, Diana opted for a Krystof Strozyna Spring/Summer 2011 ivory and blush draped long-sleeved mini dress to take in the designer's runway presentation. She successfully accessorized with a belt and a Mulberry Bayswater bag.
It will be interesting to witness the reception Diana's collection receives and whether it helps introduce this artist to a wider audience.
