Actress Anna Paquin has had a career resurgence thanks to her role in HBO's True Blood. Pretty impressive for someone who might have peaked back at age 11 when she won an Oscar for The Piano. Anna's fashion sense has grown up since then with the almost 29-year-old now favoring cutting edge designers, including a serious addiction to Alexander McQueen. The fourth season of the vampire hit premieres this Sunday, so we thought it only fitting to examine Anna’s steadfast style.

Anna’s designer devotion was on full display as she arrived to tape a David Letterman appearance in July 2009. Her Alexander McQueen dress featured a mandarin collar and was amplified by slingback Jimmy Choos. Extreme ruffles on the sides of this Viktor & Rolf Spring 2010 strapless tulle creation didn’t deter Anna from selecting the soft pink dress for the Third Annual Art of Elysium Gala in January 2010. Adding the Tom Binns necklace helped balance out the look, but the black caged heels were too heavy for such an exaggerated gown.

The very next day, Anna opted for sparkle in a gold plunging Stella McCartney when she arrived at the 67th Annual Golden Globe Awards 2010 Official HBO After Party out in Los Angeles. Fishscale double platforms also by Stella McCartney and Stephen Russell’s understated gems served as accessories. A futuristic watercolor pattern was the hallmark of the Marios Schwab Fall 2009 mini Anna wore to the 12th Annual Costume Designers Guild Awards in Beverly Hills in February 2010.

True Blood’s Season 3 Los Angeles premiere in June 2010 saw Anna decked out in a mostly blue Proenza Schouler Pre-Fall 2010 dress. Proenza Schouler was also behind her PS1 clutch and those Brian Atwood Harrison pumps showcased a flashy heel chain embellishment. Back in Alexander McQueen for HBO's 62nd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards After Party last August, Anna’s black frock came from the Pre-Fall 2010 collection and her red Brittania Punk skull clutch is also from the designer. House of Lavande bracelets and Yves Saint Laurent Tribute pumps completed the look.

It was another selection from McQueen’s Pre-Fall 2010 offering for Spike TV's Scream 2010 Awards in October of last year. This jacquard knit mini dress was paired with Brian Atwood Maniac patent pumps and Neil Lane jewels. While taking a break from her go-to label, Anna switched it up this March at PaleyFest 2011 in Beverly Hills. She let the leopard print on this Stella McCartney silk number do all the work by keeping everything else basic black.

Barely baring her midriff, Anna’s jet black Cushnie et Ochs Fall 2011 premiere dress for Scream 4 out in Los Angeles this April relied on chrome bars to keep it together. Accessories included silver Brian Atwood Maniac heels, a Cecelia clutch and Alexis Bittar earrings. While she rocked a striking violet scarf, leather jacket, sheer tights, and a studded Novak bag by her favorite fashion house for a lunch in West Hollywood in April.
