Rooney Mara is turning heads both for her now Golden Globe nominated performance in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and her elegant Gothic style. Much has been made of her transformation for the part of Lisbeth Salander, especially all her piercings. The young star doesn't want to be solely defined by her current role, though. She's in the process of shooting Terrence Malick's Lawless with Ryan Gosling and Christian Bale.

Despite her busy filming schedule, Rooney has still managed to find time to aggressively promote her latest film. She just appeared on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon in New York City decked out in a Rodarte for Opening Ceremony mock neck slit dress paired with ankle strap platforms by Prada. Rooney also hit the Today Show where she sported an ivory Roksanda Ilincic Spring 2012 bubble dress and nude peep-toes. She arrived for the taping in this Carven oversized ecru coat with black patent leather trim and carried a black Balenciaga bag.

Her premiere looks have gotten rave reviews, including this significantly sheer black Prabal Gurung Spring 2012 dress. She accessorized with Christian Louboutin Mary Jane peep-toes. When she debuted The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo over in Stockholm, Rooney also went with a Roksanda Ilincic number. Her black wide leg jumpsuit is from the Resort 2012 collection and featured cut out details.
It was this white silk tulle Givenchy Fall 2011 Couture gown she donned for the London showing that really impressed. Brian Atwood pumps completed the stunning look. The actress has experienced quite the dramatic style evolution. Back in October 2009, Rooney looked fresh-faced in this red printed dress and nude pumps at the Los Angeles premiere of Dare.

She also favored nude pumps for the Los Angeles premiere of Youth in Revolt in January 2010. Rooney partnered the footwear with an equally neutral-colored dress. Alberta Ferretti's Spring 2010 pinafore frock was her wardrobe for the premiere of A Nightmare on Elm Street in April 2010. The dress had an apron-style overlay and was complemented by nude Christian Louboutin heels, a ring by Dana Rebecca, a neutral clutch as well as a jeweled headband.

Rooney's look was vastly altered by the Tanner Hall screening in Los Angeles this September. She still selected a rather playful printed dress from Diane von Furstenberg's Resort 2012 offering though, which was teamed with an embroidered black jacket and Brian Atwood Drama pumps. For the 8th Annual CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Awards in New York City this November, the actress went minimalist in this nude Calvin Klein Spring 2012 slip dress. A pair of white sandals and a bold red lip rounded out the look.
If Rooney's latest premiere outings are any indication of what's to come, then we can't wait to see more fantastic looks from the rising star!
