Oscar Predictions: What Angelina Jolie, Rooney Mara, and Michelle Williams Will Wear

Avant-garde, mysterious, and sexy are just a few of the characteristics that describe newcomer Rooney Mara’s fashion sense. Rooney, who is nominated for her role in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, is not a fan of color and it is a rare moment when she steps out in a bold hue. That’s not to say that her pick will be anything ordinary, as Rooney likes to play with texture, length, and revealing cuts. Givenchy, which has been the starlet’s go-to designer thus far, is one of my top choices for her Oscar dress this year. This bronze Givenchy embellished halter gown will look great on Rooney’s small frame. This stunning design is both beautiful and edgy, much like the young star.

Michelle Williams, who is nominated for her role in My Week with Marilyn, has always impressed with her fashion choices. More sweet than provocative, her style tends to be feminine and beautiful. Michelle would look beautiful in this Elie Saab mint green heavily embroidered gown from the Spring 2012 Couture collection. The mint green hue would complement her rosy skin tone while the shape of the dress would flatter Michelle’s womanly curves. Additionally, the sheer amount of encrusted gems and lace on this dress is fit for a princess, a role that Michelle has excelled in during her fashion reign.

SAG winner for Best Actress and current Oscar nominee for her role in The Help, Viola Davis would look splendid in one of Giambattista Valli’s old Hollywood glamour gowns from his Spring 2012 Couture collection. This billowy one shouldered gown will highlight the starlet’s form while giving her an ethereal look. The gold bow serves as the perfect playful accent to an otherwise romantic gown. Viola should stick to the look from the runway and pull back her hair back to further showcase this beautiful design.

Jessica Chastain, nominated as Best Supporting Actress for her role in The Help, will look sexy and elegant in this structured Versace column dress from the Spring 2012 Couture collection. The purple-gray hue is right on trend with this season’s icy palette while the corseted frame serves as a second skin, to show off her amazing figure. The gilded accents on the dress make the design futuristic yet sexy, the perfect combination for Jessica’s edgier style.

Although Angelina Jolie isn’t nominated at this year’s Oscars, her main man, Brad Pitt is, ensuring that the lovely Angelina will be gracing the red carpet. While Angelina’s choice of dress is never flashy, sometimes her style is rather repetitive. It will be refreshing to see her in something more feminine and pretty like this Valentino number from the Spring 2012 Couture collection. The vintage design is gorgeous but more importantly completely unique to anything Angelina has worn before. The high ruffled neckline and the layers of beaded organza is a complete work of art that will surely complement the beautiful star.
