Five Fierce Gymnasts and Other Celeb Twitter OlymPics of the Week

British designer Stella McCartney, who designed the 2012 Team UK uniforms, has been tweeting nonstop from the Olympics events.

Everybody’s favorite swimmer showed off her all-American manicure. “Got my nails done before I swim tomorrow (AH!) and I am officially ready to race!!!” she tweeted with a pic of her gold medal-worthy look.

“We were trying to look tough... Did it work??” tweeted team captain Aly Raisman, striking a pose with the rest of the U.S. women’s gymnastics team.

“Stiletto shopping at Selfridges with Team USA Women's Basketball star @swincash,” tweeted E! host Catt Sadler—cause it looks like Cash really needs some height.

Gold medal swimmer Ryan Lochte proudly tweeted a pic of himself making waves on the cover of Time, and Denise Richards revealed herself as a fan. “Greatest cover ever!!” she tweeted.

“First time seeing her since she won the gold. Thought I might break her in half I was hugging her so tight!” tweeted former Olympian gymnast Shawn Johnson, congratulating Gabrielle Douglas. 

It wouldn’t be a trip to London without posing with a beefeater, and beach volleyball favorites Kerri Walsh and Misty May Treanor did just that. “An actual Guard on guard ;) we got a smile out of him! Sweet!!!” tweeted Walsh.

“Hanging with @Aly_Raisman at Olympic Park. Such a sweetheart and young fashionista!” tweeted Giuliana Rancic.

“Olympics 2012,” tweeted model Bar Refaeli, stopping by Olympic Park.

The winter Olympics may be speed-skater Apolo Ohno’s game, but he’s been very visible in London as well. “Interviewing @TodayShow hosts while in hair n makeup,” he tweeted.

“Haha Aly's rocking the Lochte glasses!!” tweeted Gabby Douglas, goofing around with her teammate.

You’d think runner Lolo Jones would be used to tired feet, but she still complained about uncomfortable shoes at the opening ceremony. “Me & @TysonLGay ready to represent U-S-A?? ...Or our feet hurt really bad from walking in business shoes??” tweeted the hurdler.

“Nails nails nails !!! @ebeisel34 (pink and zebra) and I (red and white and sparkly)” tweeted swimmer Allison Schmitt, displaying her and teammate Elizabeth Beisel’s nails.

“So proud to be British,” tweeted Victoria Beckham with a picture of London dressed up for the Olympics.

“Watching the #OlyimpicOpeningCeremony #GoTeamUK,” tweeted Kelly Osbourne.

For Venus Williams, the Olympic torch had a special significance. “To carry the olympic torch on World Sjorgrens Day represents strength 2 triumph for every1 with autoimmune disease!” tweeted the three-time gold medalist.
