Jennifer Lawrence just won a Golden Globe as well as a Screen Actors Guild Award and even earned an Oscar nomination. Her role in Silver Linings Playbook may be racking up the accolades, but the young star’s often erratic fashion choices have not been so widely praised. While last year’s promo tour for The Hunger Games was downright impressive, her red carpet style this award season has been a bit more hit-and-miss.

As the newest face of Christian Dior, Jennifer naturally wore the fashion house’s red Fall 2012 Couture gown with sculpted bodice to the 2013 Golden Globe Awards earlier this month. She also carried a Salvatore Ferragamo box clutch. The day before at the Los Angeles Film Critics Association Awards, Jennifer opted for a Valentino Fall 2012 Couture brocade gown with asymmetrical hem styled with Roger Vivier Cecil sandals.

Earlier in the day, the actress arrived at the BAFTA Los Angeles Awards Season Tea Party 2013 in this black and gold Altuzarra Spring 2013 dress with unique tassel accents and peplum detail. A Roger Vivier clutch, Nikki Baker earrings and black sandals wrapped up her look. Prabal Gurung’s Gothic Pre-Fall 2013 semi-sheer gown featuring draped details helped Jennifer stand out at the 2013 Critics’ Choice Movie Awards. Chopard gems, a Roger Vivier crystal clutch and Jimmy Choo Vamp sandals served as accessories.
It was an overly embellished black Valentino Fall 2012 Couture dress for the star at this year’s People’s Choice Awards. Jennifer finished off the look with Cartier jewelry and Nicholas Kirkwood black satin pumps. Back in November of last year, Jennifer attended a special screening of Silver Linings Playbook in Beverly Hills wearing a rather underwhelming Christian Dior Spring 2013 creation. Her black jacket worn as a dress was accented by Pomellato earrings and Christian Dior pumps.

Jennifer’s style took a dramatic turn at the Toronto International Film Festival premiere of Silver Linings Playbook in September 2012. Sporting a much darker hair color, she made a real impression in a tie-dye Christian Dior Fall 2012 Couture gown paired with Tiffany & Co. jewels and Christian Dior pumps. This revamped look was certainly a departure from the star’s promo tour for The Hunger Games at the onset of last year. For her film’s Berlin showing in March 2012, Jennifer was red hot in a lacy Marchesa Fall 2012 dress. She accessorized with a gold Salvatore Ferragamo clutch and red Giuseppe Zanotti peep-toes.

Tom Ford’s fitted black dress with exposed zipper detailing was Jennifer’s polished pick for the Paris premiere. She capped off the look with golden Tom Ford platform heels. Jennifer really pulled out all the stops for the Los Angeles unveiling, though. Her gold lamé Prabal Gurung Fall 2012 gown with cut-out accents was teamed with black Jimmy Choo Bunting sandals.
Although we appreciate Jennifer’s attempts to evolve her style, we’re still secretly hoping she’ll turn back on some of that previous glamorous charm for the Oscars.
