COSTUME INSTITUTE GALA BUZZ

With the 2009 Costume Institute Gala just around the corner – it is slated to take place on May 4th – the buzz has started to hit. Although exactly who will be in attendance is still a mystery given the tightened budgets this year, Fashion Week Daily has gotten some inside scoop on some guests and who will be dressing them.

This is despite the fact that the Met Ball organizers have enforced confidentiality agreements between designers and the models and celebrities that they will be dressing. The gala this year is themed “Model as Muse,” and as previously reported, sales of tables at this year’s budget have been significantly down.

It is being reported that Marc Jacobs and parent company LVMH will be sponsoring a significant number of tables, and that Marc Jacobs’ husband, Lorenzo Martone, will be “semi-hosting” a table of his own.

Marc Jacobs, who is hosting along with Anna Wintour and Kate Moss, is said to be dressing Moss and Helena Christensen in his designs, while he will be dressing Madonna and Kerry Washington in Louis Vuitton.

Calvin Klein Collection women’s creative director Francisco Costa is rumored to be dressing Halle Berry, while the men’s creative director Italo Zucchelli will reportedly be dressing Berry’s squeeze (and Calvin Klein model) Gabriel Aubry.

Fashion Week Daily is further reporting that Diane Kruger and her beau Joshua Jackson will be attending as guests of Chanel, Gisele will be attending with Dior’s John Galliano, Lily Donaldson will attend with Narciso Rodriguez, and Jason Wu will dress Jessica Alba.

Also, the Rodarte sisters Kate and Laura Mulleavy will be dressing model Jessica Stam, Pucci creative director Peter Dundas will be bringing Ciara, and Coco Rocha will be going with the upcoming “The Fashion Show” host Isaac Mizrahi.
