Get the Celeb Look: Collar Contrast

Celebs are getting hot under the collar this season. Designer Roksanda Ilincic built her Resort 2014 Collection around pieces accented by almost oversized collars in punchy colors. She wore one of her looks to the Elle Style Awards, giving a vibrancy to her black top with a collar and clutch in this season’s cobalt trend. Valentino is another designer that favors a crisp button-up lately, and Shala Monroque selected one of the designer’s bright red pleather dresses with chiffon sleeves for the amfAR Inspiration Gala. We love the schoolgirl vibe the collar lends to the look’s edgy fabrication. Kate Mara looked lovely in a very summery Mulberry romper in seasonal mint and melon hues. The jeweled appliqué on her contrasting collar gave the lace an even more luxe touch. Ashley Madekwe showed off another Roksanda Ilincic look with a collar at the unveiling of the Resort 2014 Collection. The goldenrod collar adds an injection of color to her black crepe jumpsuit. Sofia Coppola was pure sophistication in Valentino at the Crystal + Lucy Awards—the starched white collar, along with her barely-there footwear and the sheer yoke gave this look a summery lightness.
