Though they are less newcomers than rising stars, these "new" next-big-thing designers have already found favor among the fashion flock and continue to be spotted on the coolest it-girls of our time. Whether they recently made their Fashion Week debuts or have previously shown for a few seasons, these emerging designers are on our radar and have been building steady buzz ever since.

Hot on the soles of every fashion week attendee, Sophia Webster is something of a shoe wunderkind. The London designer sold her first collection to UK department store Brown’s prior to even graduating college. Her whimsical, creative and one-of-a-kind designs have been embraced by the celebrity and fashion set alike for the true definition of happy feet.

Launched in 2008 by Italian designer Massimo Giorgetti, MSGM’s golden ticket came in 2013 when the label made its debut appearance at Milan Fashion Week and opened its first standalone boutique. Since then MSGM’s winning fashion formula of bright hues and bold prints has been a fashion editor favorite.
As if an endorsement from Queen Bey wasn’t enough (she wore his sculpted bodycon dresses on The Mrs. Carter Show world tour this past summer), David Koma has also just been named the new artistic director at Thierry Mugler and delivered a killer spring 2014 presentation ripe with architectural inspired silhouettes and midriff baring crop tops.
Though this Brooklyn native may be a fashion school dropout, this girl is going places. After racking up subsequent internship stints at Oscar de la Renta and Lanvin to teach her the tricks of the trade, Rosie Assoulin received a gentle push in the design direction from a few fashion friends, Leandra Medine of The Man Repeller and Claire Distengeld of the Upper East Side boutique Fivestory. It wasn’t until last year that she struck out on her own with an eponymous line, which has been raved and reviewed for its craftsmanship and modern elegance.

Meet Adam Selman, the man behind Rihanna’s most eye-popping and scandalous onstage and red carpet looks, as well as the vibe for Riri’s recent Rihanna for River Island collaboration. This season, Selman stepped out on his own for his first solo presentation at New York Fashion Week and if Rihanna can give him her personal stamp of approval, then so can we.
As the daughter of John Rocha, it is safe to say fashion is in Simone Rocha’s blood and she was born to design. She showed her first collection at London Fashion Week in 2012 and has since gained a cult following with her brand of youthful femininity.

Hailing from down under, Dion Lee is one of the most innovative designers to come out of Australia as of late. His futuristic sensibility and edgy glamour makes for truly modern fashion the style set is clamouring to get their hands on.
With a taste for over-the-top couture, Fausto Puglisi’s maximalist sensibility is making him the new Versace of our time. His Sicilian heritage gives him the background to successfully take on his signature brand of Greco-Roman glitz, marked by gilded trimmed tunics and smatterings of brilliant prints and joyful color. Now he is having his own warrior moment, spearheading the revival of the house of Ungaro.
