After Thandie Newton inadvertently spilled the news on The View that the singing mogul was pregnant, Carey and her husband, Nick Cannon, came clean to The Today Show’s Billy Bush that they were indeed pregnant and expecting in the spring.
It was also revealed in the interview that Carey suffered a miscarriage two years ago.
Pregnancy is no cake walk, but the combination of Carey’s busy promotional schedule for her new holiday album Merry Christmas II You, the fact that she’s 40, and her continued affinity for high-high heels certainly doesn’t make things any easier.
A few days ago, Cannon recalled coming home to help the songbird get ready for her upcoming video shoots only to find her wearing “these 19-inch heels.”
Cannon continued by explaining, “So I go into the closet searching for some flats for my wife… She got a lot of damn shoes – it’s like a frickin’ Macy’s. And Mariah Carey does not own one pair of flat shoes.”
In the end, Cannon somehow finagled the very fashion-conscious (though, arguably, very unfashionable), Mariah Carey to put on a pair of flat ski boots. He added, “Needless to say, I’m going shopping to buy you some flat shoes.”
