Stars Show How to Wear Shorts in Fall

It may be chilly out, but these stars aren't ready to give up their shorts just yet. In fact, layering with black tights and boots is a stylish way to wear your favorite pair of shorts in the fall.

Visiting The Late Show with David Letterman, Rihanna wore a pair of ripped denim shorts. She kept it classy with a pair of shiny black tights, which she wore underneath. Actress Emma Roberts wore high-waisted jean shorts, semi-sheer black tights, and lace-up boots, which created the illusion that this petite actress has extremely long legs. Paired with flannel, her look was modern grunge as she left Katsuya restaurant. 

The look doesn't only work with denim, as fashionista Whitney Port shows. She was spotted shopping at 25 Park in the Meatpacking District in NYC, wearing tights with pleated leopard shorts - they almost pass as a skirt!  At a concert in Sydney, Australia, Ke$ha wore cobwebbed fishnets with barely-there shorts in a stars-and-stripes pattern. Like her neon blue lipstick, this is a look probably best left on the stage.

Don't be afraid to try shorts with sweater-tights for extra warmth, or hosiery in any of the many hues available, for a pop of color.
