Jessica Simpson: Fashion Mogul

Celebrity Fashion
March 30, 2011

With a billion dollar empire consisting of shoes, sportswear, fragrances, watches, jeans, and so much more, Jessica Simpson is nothing short of a fashion superstar.

Jessica SimpsonShe may have always played second fiddle to Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears when it came to her singing and dancing chops, but with a veritable fashion empire, Jessica Simpson is laughing all the way to the bank. According to WWD, Simpson’s namesake fashion brand generated $750 million in retail sales this past year and all signs point to it breaking the $1 billion mark in 2012. The most astounding part about these sales figures is that Simpson’s brand no longer seems to be tied to the singing career that initially thrust her into the spotlight. In fact, most would be hard pressed to remember the last time she had a chart-topping hit.

The buxom blond now has licensing partnerships for 23 fashion categories including footwear (where it all began), jeans, sportswear, fashion accessories, swimwear, outerwear, watches, and more. The key to Simpson’s success appears to be her approachable, honest nature, coupled with her products’ affordable price points. Further, unlike many celebrities who front brands, Simpson’s wares actually fit her personal style.
