Red Carpet Recap: People’s Choice Awards 2012

Kicking off awards show season were The People’s Choice Awards and unfortunately for the red carpet excitement factor, Katy Perry pulled out at the last minute. While there was no shortage of colorful frocks on the red carpet, few of them were particularly fashion forward. There were, however, some notable surprises. Whitney Cummings didn’t go for a hot-off-the-runway look, but instead opted for a green sequin ASOS dress that’s now on sale for $180. Also in green was Nina Dobrev in an Elie Saab cocktail dress with long sheer sleeves. Alyson Hannigan showed off her baby bump in a red Alice + Olivia mini, but the most memorable looks came courtesy of Ginnifer Goodwin who was wearing a Roksanda Ilinicic dress and Emma Stone who looked, as always, adorable in a Spring 2012 Gucci suit.

In the neutral territory, host Kaley Cuoco walked the red carpet in a champagne Badgley Mischka gown, while Vanessa Hudgens went with a black beaded Jenny Packham number, and arguably, the best dressed of the night were the two ladies in fringe – Lea Michele and Jennifer Morrison. Michele opted for a Spring 2012 Marchesa look, while Morrison wore a clay silk georgette embroidered Spring 2012 Oscar de la Renta dress. See these and more below.
