French President and more expected to attend...



As the world continues to morn the loss of Yves Saint Laurent, who died at the age of 71 on June 1st in his Paris home, nine hundred guests are expected to attend the couturier’s funeral taking place Thursday, June 4th at the Eglise Saint-Roch in Paris.

 

WWD reports that among the expected guests are French President Nicolas Sarkozy, French First Lady Carla Bruni Sarkozy, Valentino, Giorgio Armani, Stefano Pilati, John Galliano, Hubert de Givenchy, Alber Elbaz, Jean Paul Gaultier, Christian Lacroix, Hedi Slimane, Kenzo Takada, Sonia Rykiel. Jean-Louis Scherrer, Catherine Deneuve, Laetitia Casta and Claudia Schiffer.


 
A spokesman for the Pierre Bergé and Yves Saint Laurent Foundation added that the service will include a Mass accompanied by a choir and classical music.

YSL headquarters in Paris and YSL boutiques worldwide will be closed during the services as a tribute to the fashion legend.
