English Reality TV Star Style: The Only Way is Essex vs. Made in Chelsea

For anybody that has already had the luxury of visiting the UK, they will likely have noticed the sheer abundance of accents and style tribes within extremely short distances from each other. Accordingly, clever television executives have tapped into this idea, creating a reality TV show based on the lives of some twenty-somethings living in Essex, a region outside of London. Please welcome the very addictive The Only Way is Essex or TOWIE for short. Similar to the effect that Snooki has had on New Jersey’s reputation, these peeps have had on Essex’s!

The Only Way Is Essex

Made In Chelsea

In stark contrast, and in competition, is the reality show Made in Chelsea. As you’ve probably already guessed, it follows the lives of a select few rich young people living in London’s affluent Chelsea area. The show provides the audience with a glimpse into life in high society, where the cast are rich enough to be dripping with designer clothing and jewellery, and quite obviously opt for a British heritage look. Interestingly, the show also featured the Topshop heiress Chloe Green. Check out cast member Millie Mckintosh’s chic style during London fashion Week, right.

If the traditional British heritage look quite simply isn’t for you, you don’t just have to wear hunting boots and a quilted jacket to get a British-inspired look. Take a leaf out of the Essex girls’ book and vajazzle away!
