TREND: GEOMETRIC SHAPES

Space-agey modern looking shapes were hot on the runways for Fall ’08. Accessory and Ready-to-Wear collections conveyed a futuristic feel, mostly in muted colors with some contrasting sheen.

First up, Prada. If celebrity 1970’s journalist Raoul Duke were to hop a ride in a futuristic spaceship he would definitely need a pair of these Prada sunglasses.

Prada conveyed an “out of this world” feel both space-like and underwater with graphic shapes and muted tones. Models wore black patent leather pumps that looked almost fish-like.

Marc by Marc Jacobs kept things circular with a shiny black twisted headpiece and circle brooch.

Narcisco Rodriguez embellished garments with geometric tailoring and interesting back patterns.

Louis Vuitton manipulated metal into extravagant necklaces in modern, compressed shapes.

And who can forget Balenciaga, the entire collection screamed modernism and the clothing pieces themselves were created in futuristic silhouettes.

Keep it cool and modern by mixing in a shiny geometric accessory with a matte toned look.
