BADGLEY MISCHKA INTRODUCES A NEW FRAGRANCE

Mark Badgley and James Mischka have been design partners for more than two decades and now the duo have come out with a new fragrance — Badgley Mischka Couture. The fragrance is especially appropriate as the Badgley Mischka brand is celebrating its 20th Anniversary in the spring of 2009.

The design partners worked with perfumer Caroline Sabas of Givaudan Fragrances to create Badgley Mischka Couture.  The inspiration, we are told via a press release, came from the moment a woman slips into a couture gown, and feels transformed. “She immediately feels sexy, confident and alluring.  Badgley Mischka Couture was created to give every woman that magical feeling. The fragrance was designed to be worn in the same way as a couture gown, enveloping its wearer in luxury – Badgley Mischka Couture is for every woman who wants a touch of luxury in her life.  Whenever she wants it – day or night.” Mark Badgley and James Mischka add that couture gowns are at the heart of their design aesthetic.

The fragrance itself is  has a floriental woody scent – a blend of fruits, florals, and musks. The fragrance opens with accents of purple plum and blackberry, with a touch of pear nectar and is topped-off with notes of jasmine, gardenia, and Violet.

The bottle is a new interpretation of Badgley Mischka’s original fragrance bottle, which was inspired by the designers’ love of fine crystal – it’s  accessorized with metallic gold on each panel and there are openings at each corner to let the fragrance shine through.
