ADIDAS: CELBRATING ORIGINALITY

My personal style isn’t very sporty, but I’m all about mixing and matching to create an interesting look. Lately Adidas has been on a roll tapping exciting design talents to collaborate with on capsule collections. Through these collaborations, Adidas has been able to reach an even wider demographic.

I own a number of Stella McCartney/Adidas pieces already and they are about as versatile as it gets – functional enough to wear to the gym, but stylish enough to dress-up for day-to-day wear.

McCartney’s not the only fashion designer to produce covetable wears in conjunction with the giant.  There is, of course, the Yoshi Yamamoto Y3 line, and other designer collaborations with names such as Lawrence-John, Kazuki, Jeremy Scott, and Diesel.

What all these collaborations have in common is a theme of celebrating ones originality.” In light of Adidas’ 60th Anniversary they’ve got a new advertising campaign appropriately titled “Celebrate Originality.”

The campaign features some of the biggest names in fashion, music, sports, and pop culture including David Beckham, Russell Simmons, Katy Perry, The Ting Tings, Missy Elliot, Method Man, DMC, Estelle, Young Jeezy, and Redman.
