WEEKLY ROUNDUP: AUGUST 17 – 23

The rumor on the block is that Liberty – the famed department store in Great Marlborough Street in Central London – might be up next to partner with Target.

The word is that they’re in the final stages of hammering out a deal for a spring clothing and accessories line. Unfortunately, Liberty’s chief executive, Geoffroy de La Bourdonnaye, would not comment. But given that both Target and Liberty have teamed up with a slew of designers in the past – Liberty with Ronnie Wood Hermès, Grayson Perry, and Luella Bartley and Target with Alexander McQueen, Proenza Schouler, Paul & Joe, Erin Fetherston, and Luella – it would seem to be a natural fit.

Speaking of Target collaborations, there will be a special pop-up shop in New York City on September 10th for Anna Sui’s limited edition Gossip Girl–inspired Target collection. The temporary store is part of Fashion’s Night Out, and it will be open through September 12th at 54 Crosby St. The Anna Sui line officially goes on sale September 13th
