EYELIAH FROM STYLESYMMETRY: BLOGGER STYLE

Name: Eyeliah

Blog: Style Symmetry & The Eyeline.ca

Age: 28

Location: Vancouver

Occupation: Human Resources

A: I started Style Symmetry in December of 2007 after I first found Style Bytes.  I was so excited by the concept of connecting with style conscious individuals around the world.  I would say my blog has changed leaps and bounds in terms of the quality of the photos and content I am posting.  (I also started a street style site called The Eyeline in August of 2009, as there are too many fashionable people in my city of Vancouver not to!)

Q:  How do you decide what to post?

A:  Posting started out as just my daily outfits, but then I added inspiration posts, blogger interviews, Etsy features, ANTM recaps, etc.  Nowadays I have a monthly posting schedule that helps me to save time, and also things to not forget to include each feature.

Q:  What fashion sites and blogs do you read daily?

A:  There are way too many to count, but my favorites are under the ‘Best of the Blogs’ header on my blogroll.  Noted sites include: No Signposts, Fluffys Blog, Beckerman Bite Plate, The Glamourai, and Twitch Vintage.

A:  Oh good question – I’ll have to go with summer. Every other season in Vancouver, we get to have lots of layers and add ons, so the challenge of wearing just a few key pieces while still being stylish is always a fun one.

Q:  Who reads your blog? Do you pay a lot of attention to reader feedback?

A:  People who are looking to get some inspiration and like to read short and sweet posts.  A lot of bloggers read my blog, and friends and family. I think also ‘office girls’ looking at the outfits I wear 5 days a week to my day job, and of course don’t forget the lurkers (love you all, whoever you are!).  Yes, reader feedback is really important and always welcome.  I like to pose questions to my readers a few times a week, and anonymous polls every few months.

Q:  How do you see your blog changing and expanding?

A:  Lately I’ve been gravitating to a more grown up style, as well as a 70’s bohemian vibe, so that will be a big change.  I am doing a 100% vintage challenge next week to get 50’s silhouettes out of my system.  Guest bloggers and Post Swapping!  I would be excited to expand more in that regard by featuring different perspectives on Style Symmetry.  There is a link on my main page on how to get involved for anyone interested. Thanks so much for the interview, tFS.
