Ashleigh Verrier’s Spring/Summer 2009 collection with its abundance of Swarovski crystals, chiffon, organza, and rich colors, conjured-up images of fairy tales, and princesses.
The ultra feminine collection was utterly delectable and I couldn’t take my eyes off the wonderfully bold pendant necklaces that complemented a select number of looks.
The stand-outs for me were an ivory linen/needle lace fille tunic with pockets (pockets seem to be emerging as a big trend this season), and an ivory striped chiffon and argent trellis halter cocktail dress with Swarovski crystals. Both pieces were feminine and delicate, but there was a powerful sexy-ness to them.
Continuing with her signature feminine aesthetic, bows, lace, and ruffles were aplenty and all were used in fun and flirty ways, along with youthful touches like a shift dress with butterflies made for a young, sassy collection.
