Every season Danish designer Camilla Staerk draws inspiration from a particular woman who has, as she says “inspired me personally and who inspired me to think about my clothes in a new way.”
For the Spring/Summer 2009 Staerk collection the designer was inspired by Karen Bixen (“Seven Gothic Tales”), who Staerk says led two lives – one Danish, urban, and Bohemian, and another, on the Kenyan plain.
The collection was signature Staerk with a mostly black palette of textured leather, lace, and jersey making-up the predominantly sleek and tight collection with intricate detailing in both the front and back of the garments.
