Hoffman is repped by one of the most reputable public relations agencies who also happens to be an integral part of The Hills and The City, so it was not surprising that reality TV starlettes like Whitney Port and Olivia Palermo of the MTV reality show The City were on hand to catch Hoffman’s show. Dina Manzo of The Real Housewives of New Jersey was also sitting in the front row.  

As for the collection itself, for her Resort 2010 Swim collection, Hoffman said that she drew her inspiration from a spiritual exploration in the desert.  This translated into a variety of colorful psychedelic prints ranging from bold and bright, to softer and more feminine. In fact, the collection’s color palette was incredibly varied - from black, red and yellow, to lavender and blue with silver lame in between, there was something to suit everyone’s fancy. 

I loved Hoffman’s take on the kaftan. She had a number of models come out with a wide piece of fabric of varying colors (particularly eye catching were the black and bright pink), wrapped around their foreheads. The bohemian quality of the headpieces was a wonderful complement to the looks.  

The stand outs of the collection were the vibrant prints that showed up in both the suits as well as the cover-ups (both short and long), and a one piece black number with colorful strands dangling as the model walked. While Hoffman showed a number daringly sexy looks – in particular some black ones with netting and cut outs – there were looks that would suit the more body conscious as well, something that was often lacking in many of this season’s other designer collections.
