MIAMI FASHION SWIM WEEK: CIA MARITIMA

Cia Maritima has a rich history of putting on amazing shows. In fact, back in 2006, the label showed in New York during September Fashion Week, and they had over 20 of the most sought after models, including Karolina Kurkova 9who opened and closed), walk the runway in Cia Maritima designs. Naomia Campbell, Gisele Bundchen, and Frankie Rayder are just a few of the other top models that have closed past Cia Maritima shows. Among those who came out to support Cia Maritima was Brazilian Model and MTV Brazil VJ Adriane Galisteu. The collection, designed by Benny Rosset who started the label back in 1990, was shown in the Beachway venue at the Raleigh Hotel.

The 2010 collection was all about color, prints, trims, hardware details, and wonderfully intriguing maillots and bikini cuts. The color palette took its inspiration from sea shades and included lots of blue, green, turquoise, emerald and royal blue, while also incorporating neutral shades like coral, brown, white, and black.

Fittingly, the printed resort looks were topped off with bold baubles, giving them a very chic day to night appeal.

The stand out looks included two interestingly cut pieces that featured light draping and hardware details. The first, a blue and white patterned one, boasted a V-cut neckline and two side cutouts, along with a stomach area cutout. The touches that set the look over the top were the light ruching at the top of the bottom, and the gold center hardware. The second standout piece was a multi-colored bikini with a side strap protruding from a twisted and knotted top, which gave the two-piece an almost goddess-like feel.
