Get ready for some new trends in make-up...

When it comes to translating their vision onto the runway, designers can’t ignore the impact makeup looks can have. Though the specific details are often left to last minute discussions with the cosmetic team, the colorful - or neutral - looks go hand in hand with the fashions, and set the tone for what will sell on makeup counters. Many designers focused on natural looks this season, but a handful went big, bold, and fabulous. Here are some of the most notable Fall/Winter 2010 makeup looks.

Balenciaga: blue and orange eye brows? Nicolas Ghesquiere never fails when it comes to innovation.

Jeremy Scott: Over-the-top cat eyes were a wonderful complement to the designer’s quirky fashions.

Marc Jacobs: It's hard to top the Fall/Winter 2010 Marc Jacobs collection when it comes to makeup – each of the 60 models had a completely different look, courtesy of Francois Nars himself. Nars never disappoints, and he created a wonderful smudgy mascara and eye liner look for the show this season.

Chanel: At Chanel, the focus was also on the eyes, with painterly liner applied under the direction of Chanel’s creative director of make-up, Peter Philips.

LAMB: Gwen Stefani’s models walked the runway with dramatic cat eyes and crimson lips.

Rick Owens: Models are known to frown on the runway, but the amount of eye shadow Owens’ girls had on brought the aggravated look to new extremes.

Rodarte: The makeup look at Rodarte was heavily focused on the brow – extreme for some looks, almost dyed into oblivion for others.

Chloe: The delicate, light, natural look Hannah MacGibbon wanted for her models not only was the perfect fit for her collection, it is easily imitable and featured some beautiful peach-toned lips.

Givenchy:  Along with LAMB and many others, including the Riccardo Tisci-designed Givenchy collection, it's clear that despite a rise in neutrals, crimson lips aren’t going anywhere.

Calvin Klein: It comes as little surprise that the brand that made Brooke Shields famous showed memorably large, prominent brows paired with some of the most understated lips of the season.
