Target is teaming up once again with CFDA award winning designer Rogan Gregory and Scott Mackinlay Hahn to launch Loomstate for Target. Visually, the collection bares some similarities to Rogan Gregory’s Target collection, but the Loomstate collection is made of 100% certified organic cotton. Plus, the line includes fashions for both men and women.
Designer Rogan Gregory first partnered with friend Scott Mackinlay Hahn in 2001 to launch his eponymous collection of men’s and women’s fashion. In 2004, Gregory and Mackinlay Hahn – both committed environmentalists – created Loomstate, a new casual brand dedicated to creating a demand for certified organic cotton, using socially and environmentally responsible methods of production.
The women’s pieces include black and white pelican bird prints taking flight on a string bikini and a cotton silk tank, and a plaid print that covers a cotton poplin tunic dress with string-tie detailing at the sleeves and neck. There are shift dresses in a black cotton silk blend v-neck option or jersey graphic print t-shirt style. Wardrobe staples include relaxed vintage washed cotton and silk tanks and tees, button-up blouses and airy linen sweaters which pair well with the flat front poplin shorts in plaid or pelican print. Standout pieces include a silk blend ombre skirt, a cotton poplin jacket, and an ‘authentically destroyed’ denim miniskirt with exposed stitching.
The eco-conscious line debut is slated for April 19th at Target.com and select Target stores nationwide – well timed given that Earth Day is on April 22. The collection will be available through May 16th (women’s) and June 20th (men’s only), and ranges in price from 14.99 to $44.99 – in comparison to the high-end Loomstate line which can cost over $200.
